Clarification of some H&R rules - Please read before posting

As many of you will be aware the health and relationship forum is one of the busiest that we have on TSR. Recently the moderation team have noticed a few issues which we would like to clarify the rules on.

The troll smiley

The smiley is being used more and more in H&R. The use of single smiley posts is spammy and unacceptable in H&R and the troll smiley is no exception to that. If you come across a thread which you believe is a troll thread rather than posting the troll smiley please report the post. This will alert the thread to the moderation team quickly so that a decision can be made as to whether the post is a trolling post and it can be removed it that is appropriate.

Please also be aware that if you post the troll smiley (especially in threads where the user clearly isn’t trolling) your post will be treated like other spammy posts in the forum and is liable to be warned.

”Am I good looking?” threads

The H&R forum has recently been flooded with threads where users post pictures of either their face or their body and ask whether or not other members find them attractive. The H&R forum is not the place for threads like these. We have a dedicated thread for other members to rate your pictures which you can find here.

Please keep these threads in the appropriate subforum.

Misuse of Anon

H&R has the anon function so that users can post about issues that are of a private or potentially embarrassing nature. Please make sure that before you use the anon function you have read the guidelines (which you can find here) and you are sure that the post that you are making is allowed to be anonymous under the rules which you can read here .

If you use the anon function in an inappropriate way you will receive a warning.

Spam

Spam is still at an unacceptable level in the H&R forum. There are currently are large number of silly and pointless posts. If you make a spammy post in H&R you will risk a warning, if you continue to spam you may potentially be banned from H&R.
The following types of posts are not considered to be acceptable:
  1. Posts which are not relevant to the discussion
  2. Posts which are not a piece of constructive advice or discussion
  3. Posts which encourage or are part of a off topic conversation
  4. Posts which are comprised of a single smiley with the exception of the ditto smiley which may be used when relevant to the thread.
  5. Posts which make jokes about or try to belittle the problems being mentioned in the thread
  6. Posts which are aimed at provoking an argument
  7. Posts which aim to be offensive to other members
  8. Posts which otherwise break the rules of TSR or the Health and Relationships forum

If you feel that your post is any of the above then you are advised not to post it on the public forum.

The sort of posts that we are looking for in H&R in response to threads are
  1. Advice for the original poster or anyone who has mentioned a problem in the thread
  2. A post where you share something that might have happened in your life which may help the original poster
  3. Generally posts which are helpful and supportive.

If people abide by these rules H&R will be a much more welcoming place for people to post.

If you see a post which you feel breaks any of the above rules please use the post report system to alert the moderation team to it.

Thank you

The TSR moderation team.
