  • Brunel University guide

Tucked away in a corner of west London, Brunel University is in Uxbridge on the very last stop of the Piccadilly and Metropolitan Underground lines, nestled alongside the M25 border.

Named after the celebrated Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the university focuses on qualifications in technology, engineering and physical sciences. More recent additions to its selection of courses include degrees in the arts and humanities.

The distinctive Brutalist-style architecture of some buildings on the campus has been the setting for a number of films and TV shows over the years, such as the Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange, plus TV shows like Spooks and Inspector Morse. Thankfully, the university hasn’t been overwhelmed by its brushes with fame - it remains a serene yet modern university to study at.
