Slap bang in the middle of the UK is the University of Birmingham, a prestigious institution established in 1900.
Situated on two campuses in the suburbs of Selly Oak and Edgbaston, on the outskirts of one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, this university is littered with red brick Victorian buildings and leafy green spaces.
One of the most acclaimed universities in England, the University of Birmingham offers a wide range of courses and welcomes around 26,000 students through its doors every year. It’s so popular that it’s the only university in the UK to have its own railway station!
Other unique things to see at the University of Birmingham include a botanic garden, the tallest freestanding clock tower in the world and the Barber Institute of Fine Arts which is home to artwork by the likes of Picasso, Van Gogh and Monet.
