We are the University of East London, and we've been pioneering futures since 1892, from the 2nd Industrial Revolution through to where we are now, the 4th. We are a careers-led university, dedicated to supporting our students to develop the skills, emotional intelligence and creativity needed to thrive in a constantly changing world.
Over the 2018-19 academic year the University of East London has been developing and starting to implement a new 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum, pedagogy, research impact and partnerships to make a positive difference to student, graduate and community success. Our ambitious but achievable goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the jobs of the future and provides the innovation to drive that future sustainably and inclusively.
Careers-Led University
We work with global organisations to make our courses entrepreneurial, creative and inspirational. Wherever our students want to work - in business, technology, teaching, arts, media, science, sport or the public sector - they will have the skills necessary to adapt to the world of tomorrow, and to be the leaders and pioneers of today.
Amazing Location
London is moving east, and with campuses in Stratford and the Royal Albert Dock, we are at the heart of this industrial and creative shift which makes up a powerful global gateway. Our Docklands campus and accommodation is set in a beautiful, dynamic location, right next to the river, with the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) on its doorstep (and free UEL buses running to Stratford). Our students live in stunning surroundings, and are never far from the action and work experience opportunities of central London
Student Support
University can be a life-changing experience, and we ensure that our students get the support they need along their journey. Our Centre for Student Success has a dedicated Career Coaching team, as well as one to-one advice from our academic tutors, study skills sessions, mental wellbeing support, and peer advice from recent graduates to help students stay on track. We’ll advise and encourage them from the moment they apply to the day they graduate – and beyond.
Teaching Excellence Framework Award (TEF)
Here at the University of East London, we have been awarded Bronze for delivering teaching, learning and outcomes for its students that meet rigorous national quality requirements for UK higher education.

Student Life in London
London is England’s most iconic and cherished city. East London has undergone a regeneration positioned next to the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf, Stratford, and the incredible architecture of the Olympic Park. The landscape is dynamic and thriving, a perfect place to further your education and experience London through your studies and research. There are two campuses at UEL, one is located in Stratford and the other in Docklands.
Travel Information
There is a free double-decker bus service that travels between the campuses that runs from morning till night and takes about 25 minutes. 5 minutes from the Stratford rail station and frequent bus services running from the station mean that transport to and from the university campuses is close and convenient.
