University of Bradford facilities
The University of Bradford has a wide selection of modern facilities including those in the brand new £1.5 million Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Building. In addition to this, key facilities include a physiotherapy clinic, outside broadcasting truck, and a clinical simulation suite, giving your practical experience you might only usually learn on the job.
The University of Bradford is made up of two campuses: City Campus and the School of Management. The former is based in the heart of Bradford while the latter is based in parkland a few miles away from the main campus. A vibrant city, Bradford has excellent connections to the rest of Yorkshire including Leeds and York.
Library and study facilities
The main JB Priestly Library, named after the famous Bradford-based writer is at the heart of the main city campus and has a calm and welcoming environment, ideal for studying hard! You can help yourself to books using the self-service facilities and the library at the School of Management has specialist business books for loan.
There are extensive IT facilities at the university including more than 15 IT cluster suites and 24-hour access in the main university building, meaning you can study during the times that suit you. There is also full IT support during university hours should you come into technical difficulty.
Should you need some help and advice on what to do after you finish studying, the careers service at the University of Bradford offers personal development workshops and one-to-one advice so you can ensure you’re on the right track to finding a job or moving on to further study. There are plenty of amenities on campus including two shops, a Costa Coffee shop and a Sodexo restaurant. There is also a free cinema, and a 1,300 capacity student bar with discounted student drinks and 10 pool tables.
The active Student Union forms part of daily life at the University of Bradford and organises more than 100 clubs and societies for students in a diverse array of interests plus volunteering schemes in the local community. It also runs one of the longest-running studio radio stations, RamAir which you can choose to be a part of.
A fitness and lifestyle centre is in the heart of the main campus at the University of Bradford and has had a recent £5 million refurbishment, providing students with the latest facilities and sports equipment. In addition to this, there are more than 35 student-led sports clubs in a variety of disciplines from hockey to ultimate Frisbee.
Medical and welfare services
If you attend the University of Bradford you will be encouraged to join the Bradford Student Health Service which runs regular health appointments and is based a short walk from campus. In addition to this, the university offers a counselling service which gives free and anonymous advice to both students and staff members.
