My messages-
I got an offer from Queens!!! AAA*. I am so delighted! I've just written my acceptance letter. The tutors must have liked what I said about Madame Bovary lol.
Thank you for looking out for me. By the way, which college do you study at?
Hope you're having a good new year so far,

Hey

I think mine was much like what was quoted to you in the information that you got beforehand. I wasn't really sure what to expect to be honest, but I do remember reading out bits of the passage in Spanish (and pronouncing "Borges" so wrong that the interviewer had to correct me several times
). I also ended up having a conversation in Spanish about a school trip I'd taken to Spain when I was 14, which threw me a bit because I wasn't expecting them to ask about the least interesting part of my personal statement, but I was anticipating having to speak Spanish - was that what you weren't expecting? I think it's standard in the MML interviews, perhaps they just forgot to tell you. Which is a bit mean, I agree!
It sounds like you did well though if you were able to answer the questions! Did you feel like it was okay apart from coming a bit out of left field? I wouldn't worry too much about it now, I think you did all you could and the best thing is to just enjoy Christmas and put it out of your mind until the new year
I really hope it went well for you, I'll be watching out for your posts when the letters come out
Merry Christmas to you too!

Hi
I had my MML interview at Queen's college last Tuesday.
My French interview wasn't what me or my teacher at college were expecting, but I think I coped with it.
In the information that was sent to me, the interview was said to work like this:
you have 15 minutes to look at an unseen passage, which you then read out in French and discuss in English.
In my interview, we discussed the passage in English, and then we had a conversation in French about some books i'd read...I was able to answer the questions, but it wasn't at all what I was expecting! The next day, back at college, I was talking to the teacher who'd been helping me with Cambridge related things (he's a former Cambridge student himself), and he said, "oh, that was a bit mean!" about my interview.
Was your Spanish interview what you were expecting?
Thanks, and merry christmas!
