intro to metrics by chris dougherty (he teaches ec220 at LSE) is the best intro book i know (but i also know that there a lot that I havent read). it covers a lot of material but it explains it really well. it is the only textbook i used, it's a much better book than the course text for ec221 (LSE has 2 metrics 2nd year courses, 221 being the more rigorous one) in terms of understanding, really well written.
the two courses are almost the same. main difference is the dissertation in 3rd year that eme does. -
Hello, it says you're doing eme at LSE, could you tell me if there's much difference between eme and maths and economics as far as the course content is concerned? I'm wondering if applying to both with the same PS would be a bad idea.. Also could you recommend a basic econometrics book that comprehendible and yet not too watered down?
