My messages-
Just concentrate on prep for the filter at the mo, learn IOT, learn the a/c's and where there based, I didn't get any current affair qu in mine but I heard a few people did so I would spend more effort on RAF knowledge! You get a lot of questions about school and what you did extra blah blah so think of everything you achieved, that kind of thing got me through because I struggled a bit with IOT, obviously learn it inside out for Cranwell interview!
They basically ask you all that they said they would in your presentation (p2)!
Good Luck look forward to hearing about it! -
Very well done on getting to the end! There is not much you can do now but wait, I have my filter interview less than two weeks away and If I pass that I will be off to OASC myself.
What I do want to know is mainly things that people failed on (the ones who got sent home especially) and your personal advice you can give to anyone attending OASC if any ?
Thanks in advance, Yarri -
Hi
It went well thanks, got a letter yesterday saying I had been put on a list that will be reviewed in 3 months! Think that is positive for now as its not a No and I believe the next available IOT course starts in Oct and they will need to confirm requirements of trades nearer the time, plus still more going through OASC. Time to enjoy the summer!!
Any dates with you yet? -
How did you do with OASC?
-
Best of luck with your OASC part 2, let us know how you got on!

I think getting questions right is paramount so you need to work hard at having the confidence to solve problems quickly and move on. yes red line is a min for each section but don't have the results to look at, mum has them up on her kitchen wall. I think i would become better at my lefts and rights, this might sound worrying esp for atc but when somethings upside down and or back to front which way is left and which way is right ...thats what i thought i was going to fail on afterwards!!
-
Ok, another question if you don't mind, what's the red line (assuming minumum score in each section) and also, if you were to do the apptitude again, what would have you done differently, priority to doing questions as quick as possible or priority to making sure you answer it correctly? I just can't afford to fail so every little bit of help will be amazing, thanks

180 is the max so generally unheard of, I got 140,120,130 similar results as the other guy who passed others had overall marks above the pass rate but fell down on 1 or 2 sections (under the red line) which varies for each test, I wouldn't stress too much on s/d/t as that is generally only 1 of the 17 or 18 tests and I think its out of 17 questions, I got to qu 16 in the time so be confident with it but working under pressure doing sums or problems quickly would be better prep, ie pairs as quick as possible? play against your self against the clock and try and improve...I used the game mahjongs, seems weird but personally think it helped lots. I don't know what the competitive score needed is but would guess over 120 maybe 125 even though 100 is a pass I think? aslong as you pass the red line in all tests...
officer or snco? -
Hey, thanks for the response. So far the only revision I have been doing were mainly speed/distance/time calculations which hopefully will come handy, but I will also try other ways of practicing that you have suggested. The 2 out of 7 passing doesn't sound too good, but I hope for the best. Been waiting over 3 weeks for my date, but I guess more time to prepare for me. By the way, do you know what score did you get? I have heard that 125/180 is competitive score for ATC nowadays I might be wrong.. Thanks

Also new to this not sure if yesterdays response went yo you or just my wall...it was as follows....
Hi
how long have you been waiting, think it took about 2 weeks after my filter for an aptitude date, which was end of Feb. I didn't think I had passed I don't think anyone does, 2 out of 7 of us did. I think that is unusually bad there was even a guy on it who had passed the year before so it proves you can prepare for it as he said he hadn't this time!....definitely no room for complacency! The day was hardcore and by lunch I was already exhausted mentally!!! Just stick with it, my main prep was brain training on the ds and killer sudokus as fast as possible...best advice is don't panic you will make mistakes lots but keep cool and just deal with them and then the next task, they push you to the limit and at times you just feel like shouting sod this but keep with it and especially on the multi task ones...there are a few!!
