I would learn to deal with my pain, I would try and get past it without inflicting any more pain onto another human. Often when there are these threads, it is not justice people are looking for, but vengeance.

Okay well good for you mate. But it's unfair to say that someone who couldn't lacks compassion in general, we're all human after all and neither of us have even been faced with the situation so we can't say for sure how we'd react. But out of interest, what if I didn't feel remorse? Still forgiven?

If you felt remorse, then hopefully I could, it all depends why you did it, and what you feel afterwards. Of course it also depends on me, as I said in my post, I HOPE I could, none of us knows how we would react in these extreme examples, but I hope I could yes.

So you're saying that people can do anything, no matter how disgusting or life destroying to another person, and expect to be forgiven? I can burn your family alive and you'll forgive me?

But that's what it is..? it is a lack of compassion to refuse to forgive someone?

Because when someone said they wouldn't forgive a rapist you sarcastically put it down to a lack of human compassion...I didn't like that comment.
