So say he made another Muslim an apostate, he's condemned that guy to hell.
Surely the people are affected by his offensiveness towards God/Islam.

You don't have to tolerate it, nor accept it.
Just understand that there's different rules in an Islamic State that should be adhered to.

It always comes down to, if you know the punishment is death, why do it?
Why not go somewhere safer etc.

I never said they cannot get offended, I said being offended causes them no harm whatsoever. The idea that killing somebody for upsetting people is a proportional response is flat out lunacy.

I think we're done here, you hold a viewpoint I could never even tolerate, never mind empathise with.

    Muslims do get offended.
If a family member did become an apostate, they spend an eternity in hell.
Would you want your family to go through that? No? There you are. The offense does have a cost.

Yep, I can't agree with the killings unless dealt with via courts and proper evidence.

It's not just upsetting them though. It's almost condemning their family to hell :s

Lol it's appalling to you i guess
I see it as something very important though, especially if he's purposely trying to disrupt the state.

    No, they don't.

Yes, I know people would want to take thongs into their own hands. These people are equally despicable.

I'm aware of how committed Muslims can be, but the idea that this should validate the killing of people who upset them is moronic.

Your "perspective" is really quite apalling, to be honest.

Don't experience any negative effects from being offended?
Are you speaking on behalf of muslims there o.0

So you don't think the people would want to take justice into their own hands?

It's bad because you don't understand how dearly people hold the religion. I wouldn't expect you to understand and if I was in your position I'd probably think the same.

But it's not horrific or an injustice from my perspective. You're in an Islamic state so don't piss off the people in simple terms lol.

The problem is the government are "looking out" for a group who experience no detrimental effects whatsoever from being offended. Nobody is harmed in any way at all by being offended, and to punish the "perpetrator" with treason is one of the most horrific injustices in the world today.

In reply to that post, the whole community is Islamic. The government look out for their community.
Also, alot of people would be offended if people bad mouth Islam. Religion is very important to muslims, you know what happened to the Danish cartoonist

While I understand you'd find it difficult to persecute someone for apostasy+treason, the nature of being in that system makes it one of the worst crimes possible.

I could say the law is too harsh but if I was an apostate, the last thing i'd do is announce to the muslim community that the religion is a joke lol. It's kind of understandable. If the state didn't the people would.

Better them then a vigilantee group, like what happened in Pakistan recently. It's shocking

Sorry about this reply but the thread was abit old lol.
