My messages-
not jusrt Brittany, Corsica too. Normandy should be given a mandate on whether it wants to be more powerful, and Alsace Lorraine should be allowed to develop its seperate identity.
Algeria fought back against the French and won, those regions can fight for their rights too -
Agree
-
The french should pull out of brittany and enable the breton language to thrive without their suppression.
-
I'll take that as a concession of defeat, lates kiddo
-
At least you admitted how impractical Marxism is. We can both agree on that.

Eh.. you just ignored what I said didn't you.. I told you, I am not a Celtic nationalist in the political sense, but I support the self-determination of Celtic countries that have been conquered or absorbed by larger powers. Issues of cultural identity need to be addressed and just telling people to ignore them and engage in global revolution may sound like a nice idea but it's not practical, ethnic/cultural tensions often replace the left/right question in many of these countries, Northern Ireland for example - a Marxist with any intention of actually achieving their goal would seek solutions to those problems so that a stable cultural unit is available within which class war can occur.
It's also just a matter of culturally enriching Europe by allowing previously oppressed cultures to go their own way, and it also diminishes the hegemonic capabilities of their former masters, for example France and the United Kingdom.
So yeah you're argument is with english etymology mate. -
Actually, Marx supported a worldwide revolution, comprising all countries, with no room for national states or lines built on a national/cultural identity.
Marxists don't recognize countries, and aim for the union of the human race. They do NOT aim for an independent state based on a specific cultural identity (in this case, Celtic). -
Sigh... there's a difference between Nationalism and nationalism, Marx himself specified that the word has two meanings. I support the independence of the celtic countries from the regional powers that conquered them, not the domination of Celtic states over their neighbours.
I'm surprised how many people seem to think they have caught Marxists out on that one... -
I know what pan-Celticism is, thanks. Just wondering how someone can both be a Marxist and a Celtic nationalist. It's simply contradictory.
