I never even heard of A levels when i was in school, i'm just trying to claw my way out of this **** hole i got stuck in.

Yeah i stupidly thought he was right but after thinking about it...well come on x) My cousin got into IT around 15-16 and now he's a expert in a few diffrent areas, he said anyone can become an expert, regardless of age, it's just about having the motivation and actually enjoying it.

I start university in October, no idea what career I want at the end of it but it's looking more like security lately, interesting stuffs. For A levels, English is not really needed but I have heard science subjects are appreciated e.g. physics. Maths Computing and Physix is what I would have taken if I didn't do BTEC software development.

Also, in your thread about pen testing, those replies that said you need to have been doing it since you were 12 are just retarded, nobody knows what they want to do when they're 12.

Awesome, people on here said it required tons of math but then again they were probably 16 year olds who have no clue, i'm going to keep searching for more info. Computing and computer science are the same..wth, now i know why wolverhampton uni has both..those cheap whores. Hopefully they won't raise all the courses requirements to A levels in math/english before i get in...

What job are you looking to get at the end of uni?

I start college in september, what month do you start?

Well I'm not actually doing it yet so I'm not sure how much maths is in it but I'm not worried either because I know there's not going to be a huge amount, I'm not a lover of maths either but most of the good universities will require a good result in A level maths. I just did BTEC software development which was a great decision imo 'Computing' and 'Computer Science' are exactly the same thing, they are both G400 in the UCAS course code. Someone told me Computer Science was better somehow but I'm pretty sure they are just the same. In GCSE maths I also didn't care about at all, what I did was just learn absolutely every in the last couple of days before the maths exam which worked out ok because I got a B, it was a crazy couple of days Working through past exam papers was massively useful and I used those + mymaths.co.uk to fill in all gaps in my knowledge :] forgot it all now tho lol

Hmmm sounds intresting, i'll check some of the old ones out.

Can you tell me a little about computer science (i have 3 years before i could do it) I've heard its all about Math and theories? is that right? It seems like the best foundation (could do post in security or w/e) but i'm **** at maths (doing gcse maths) But i don't think i'd be good at A level maths etc, so i was looking into "computing" course...is that a good course? (i try and find info but theres little to none)

So yeah any info you can give me, would be great, you may be younger but hell you probably know more then me :F

    Thanks

Hey, if you're interested in pentesting, I use an IRC server that does regular blackhat lessons with real experienced teachers. The IRC address is 'irc.canthack.us' and port is '+447', you will need SSL enabled to connect. If you don't have an IRC program, to start with I'd suggest downloading mIRC to start with. Here is a directory of the previous public lessons: http://canthack.us/lessons/ but if you pay 2 bitcoins you can get advanced lessons too. It's not trying to be a commercial thing, it just has to pay for servers etc, it was born out of the anonops server during all the lulzsec kerfuffle. I have 3 months till I start computer science and I have been using this IRC alot to learn about computer security etc, it is a very education place, ppl will answer all you're questions.

You do realise you posted a reply to me..on your own profile? xD

Well Theres no such courses in this area or areas around here , only in uni. So i'll just go to college for 3 years (hopefully dont become "an hero") The course isnt just game design tho, I'll get to learn computer systems/website development/data base design and working in the IT industry :]

By any chance do you have a DA account? so i can see your work? (i deactivated mine long ago)
