Hi,
It depends on which exam board you do, but most have issued textbooks specifically for each unit. Try to get the most recent one, for example http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edexcel-AS-L...&qid=131539248 1&sr=8-1 for Edexcel FP1. In terms of advice, though, I still entered the exam through my school, and I suppose yours won't let you do that. You may have to pay to enter as an individual, or perhaps you could find another school that would let you enter as an external candidate?
In terms of teaching, doing every exercise in the book is usually the best way. Your maths teacher may help you, and your school may even let you do FM if you show you are committed enough.
Good luck, and ask any other questions you want. -
Hello,
I'm writing to you 'cause I saw one of your posts a few moments back. I'm a student doing A'levels. I'm looking to apply to Oxbridge/LSE/UCL. But I can't do Further Math at my school. The school requires Additional Math at O'L for a student to do Further Math at A'Level, and I didn't get the chance to do it as my previous school didn't offer it. I'm currently doing, Economics, History, Geography and Math. I'd like to do FM in any way possible. You mentioned that you self-taught FM? Which books did you get? Any advice/help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.
