Weird way to look at it. I take the complete opposite approach. I would say America is not a Christian country due to the secular nature of its Constitution and other laws, and its history and views of its Founding Fathers lend credence to my view. As an atheist I have no problem saying the UK is a Christian country. It's history, laws, and political structure attest to that. We have a Monarchy who is head of the State Church, we have reserved seats for Bishops in the House of Lords, the list goes on.

I said that I do not believe that the accused defendants who go free are necessarily rapists. I believe some are cases where the victim may have believed she was raped, but in actuality did consent (drunk, too paranoid to say no, blah blah blah), or did falsely accuse the defendant. Some will be rapists who have gone free due to a lack of other evidence, of course, but not all by any means.

I think these people should get more vocal, as their opinions certainly count. Peer pressure etc. may cause many of them to stay quiet, but it's no good forcing ideals on people. It may just be that a huge portion of gay people are against gay marriage themselves.

All lives should be valued equally, it's the relevance of the events that count. If a guy gets killed down my street or there is a terrorist attack in a peaceful city on people that I can associate with (I.e. same culture), then I care. If random civilians get killed in a country torn with war that I can't really associate with, then I'm not really bothered by it. That's not to say that I don't care about the people that have died, I just don't consider it to be relevant to me.
