The rooms are named by Block, floor, flat room:

Eg. AG01-B is room B in 1st flat on the ground floor of A block
B703-A is 3rd flat on 7th floor of B block

Ahh I see, hmm it's a difficult decision. However I rang up the accommodation office and they said it's just best to book one now to be on the safe side and keep your eye and ear open for others that may come available to which you can transfer to by paying an extra £50.

Having said that I just went ahead and booked Liberty Park. Although it is off campus and I only got a single room (which isn't ideal), it is still classed as one of the top accommodations for the uni...

Alongside this, I am still going to try and see if Newarke or Victoria come available as I still would love to live there for my first year.

Have you made any progress with your choices?

So i'm looking to book accommodation but where I wanted to live (Newarke or Victoria Hall) is fully booked!:(

I haven't been looked at the accommodation in person and was wondering if you could help me decide which one out of The Grange or Liberty Park is nicest - only en suites left:/ ?

I would preferably want to stay on campus as i'm coming from a far and not familiar with Leicester so 'The Grange' would be more ideal. However I am hesitant to book as I really don't know what its like!

Someone please help and give me some sort of insight as to what these places are like??

Theres a bit of a flooding issue going on right now, so some residents are being moved into Hotels but Liberty is probably one of the best halls DMU has to offer apart from the appalling tiny en suites lol apart from that its great!

I would say it would depend on a lot of factors. it would depend on how many have met the requirements for the course. how many spaces are left after those who have met the requirements have received places and confirmed them. Module grades and your academic history I assume would also factor in as well as other factors.

You don't have to book through the de Montfort website. If you book through the company's own website you have the option to choose mixed aex, whereas dmu will just place everyone in single sex flats. Stupid really xx

I've gone onto an accommodation's website to book a room, and I was expecting only one field for single en-suite, and another for premium, and so on, but single en-suite is repeated many times. In one field it says 4 Bed Single En-suite, whereas another it says 2 Bed Single En-suite. The 2 bed one is more expensive than 4, so I am wondering what the numbers refer to, as it does not say?

Foundation courses don't take your grade into account that much, as long as your work is good. I know quiet a few people on my foundation course that don't have a great academic record.

Hi all, I am looking to fill a spacious double room in a student house asap due to moving back home. The house is almost directly on campus, literally less than 2 minutes walk to all your lectures and only £60 a week, which is the cheapest rent you can get this close to Uni :) Its a £100 holding deposit and you would be sharing with three friendly third year guys :) Let me know if you're interested!

I wouldn't necessarily say this because the marking is regulated by an external examiner so there is some degree of comparability between degrees results regardless of which uni because that's the point of it. And I know for a fact that all grades in the hightest 5th percent have to be sent to an external marker to make sure that they arent graded more than they are worth. Although ill admit that grading is prob harsher at Oxford Cambridge and lse. But I've been to a uni in the top ten league table and received similar grading as at dmu so... And she might think everyone gets firsts but that might be the people she hangs around with and not a representation of everyone

hi, im going to be applying for uni in September and i want to do psychology. i was just wondering what the teaching standards were like at DMU because i saw a negative review on what uni ( cant seem to find it now) but i don't want to apply there if the lecturers are not very good and there's no point asking on the open day day as ill obviously get bias reviews ....
im really keen on Leicester but i may not get in as they are asking for AAB good to have a back up and DMU is my back up but other then these two are there any decent unis where i can study undergrad psychology that have reasonable entry grades

Hey there I firmed dmu months ago for Healthcare Science (Audiology) have yet to receive the forms. So I contacted them and was told that the forms will be dispatched in May.

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student who is thinking about doing my Master's at DMU (business). I've read mixed reviews so far, and I don't really know what to make of it.

Could someone who is/was attending DMU tell me a little bit about studying business there?

What are the lectures like (quality of teaching, lecturers, assessments)?
What's the workload for a course?
+ anything worth mentioning ;-)

I'd really appreciate if someone could comment!
