Thank you for all the answers!
I'd like to say though that my student loan covers my accommodation with £50 to spare, I have barely any savings and my parents can't support me/I can't support myself with a job due to the disability I have.
I just honestly don't know how to make ends meet - I've budgeted the heck out of everything but that doesn't negate the fact that there isn't enough coming in in the first place (!)
Any extra ideas would be hugely appreciated, thank you so much for all responding so quickly :)

The support you receive through DSA depends on...

The support you receive through DSA depends on your study needs. It's difficult to say what you will get, as I (and I assume everyone else including the few DSA Assessors registered on the site) don't know you personally and how the condition affects you. This can only be determined by a DSA assessor following a Needs Assessment.

What I do know is that symptoms change from person to person, as does the severity of symptoms, so that makes it even more difficult to comment on and make any predictions.

I would need it for lecturers and not my own voice . On my course we have loads of lecturers.

It was rejected because of just a letter with listed conditions on. But now I have more detailed letter saying my hearing has got worse. Does dragon work on windows and also my word does not work as it was only free trial when I got laptop. I haven't been able to afford to get the software for word. I use the Uni word software through desktop anywhere which allows me to use my Uni desktop at home

You may be able to access suitable adaptations to hearing aids via DSA, such as the micro receivers which can fit into most hearing aids. The radio system would pick up the voice of the lecturer and play it straight to you.

Unfortunately the Dragon software will only transcribe a trained voice so wouldn't work with recording lecturers speaking. It may be more suitable to look at note taker support, or real time captioning with transcript such as Bee Communications. There would be no problem in getting a copy of Office (with Word in) for your computer.

So I took the screening test (on the computer) which gave me a score of 'high risk' of having dyslexia in auditory recognition and 'medium risk' for visual recognition. I know it's not a diagnostic tool but it's quite a high indication. However, the bad news is that they can't do anything about it as I'm coming to the end of my degree. Feeling very frustrated that it was actually myself that thought something was wrong and not my tutors. I know dyslexia is a very broad condition and I don't think it's affected my degree classification too much, but I suppose I will always be wondering. Plus it's too late to get special circumstances for my upcoming (and final) exam.

Yes, unfortunately it is too late now to apply for DSA. Maybe you have mild dyslexia or another condition, so the tutors have not picked it up. Try not to wonder too much if you could have got a better classification if they found out at the beginning of your course, as it will drive you mad.

Aside from the GP, I've not really got anyone to help me. My "support worker" is useless and agrees with the stupid woman who claims I don't have it, therefore, won't make any reasonable adjustments. She then wonders why I refuse to meet her in noisy places.
I have also heard that some people don't accept a private diagnosis as valid, because we've paid to be diagnosed.

Can I just point out that your report details the recommendations made to your funding body to provide funding for these strategies. Its not an entitlement and the funding body can disagree with the assessors recommendations. If your funding body agree to the recommendations, they will then 'approve' the recommendations and you will then be supplied with the strategies.
