it could be normal if you haven't had sex before. If you have never had sex then its is just because you have a tight hymn (vaginal wall) and when your climaxing its putting pressure causing it to open which is why it hurts, but this is only if you haven't had sex. Basically, I have seriously bad period pains. The sort where I take paracetamol and ibuprofen, curl up in a ball with a hot water bottle and cry. On a few occaisions i have thrown up, but generally i just feel absolutely sick to my stomach, shaking with hot/cold flushes and unable to move. I also get diarrhea, which makes the pain particularly intense. Recently (past yearish), its been spreading to my lower back too, and ive had to buy another hot water bottle because that gets unbearably sore too.
I can't remember when I started getting such bad pain - it definitely wasn't immediately but i think it was within 4 years of starting.
I also have always had really heavy periods. I used to have to stay at home because at school I wasn't able to go to the toilet every hour. It has got lighter since about 17, but i still need to plan my day around where the toilets are and if ill have time to use them.
I also get really bad PMS - really sudden mood swings, random crying, food cravings etc.
Over the past few years I been getting period cramps from about 2 weeks leading up to my period, these are pretty much exclusively if i do exercise. Like, i cant go to the gym, or go jogging because as soon as i stop i will be doubled over with cramps that last about as long as i was exercising for. They even come if i do anything like stand up quickly, or walk up the stairs. They get worse/more sensitive to triggers the closer to my period.

Ive been to the GP a couple of times and they just said it was stress, and prescribed me mefenamic acid but i got some nasty side effects and it turns out im hypersensitive to NSAIDs, so im now on tranexamic acid and co-dydramol (which doesnt really work).
None of my family have any of these problems at all, and im really scared it could be that ive got something causing all this and i could be affecting my fertility. I just dont want them to think im a hypochondriac, or im worried theyll think that i think i know better than them seeing as im a med student.
I just want a bit of advice - im genuinely worried, but my doctor said it was stress, so im also scared about going back and coming across as whiny.

I've posted about this on another forum but I don't know, maybe I'll get different answers here. I had a miscarriage just over a month ago and I thought it was starting to get easier, but this week I've slumped again and I just feel useless and lost and I feel like I have no right to grieve - I was only four weeks - but I am grieving so much. Apparently the patch is similar to the combined pill, which my doctors don't let me take because I suffer from frequent migraines. I've had a family member and a friend who both had the coil put in and they were both in agony during the process (my mum said it was worse than childbirth), and I'm needlephobic so the injection and implant definitely aren't for me. Condoms definitely seem like the safest option right now!

Cerazette is supposed to be one of the more reliable mini pills so I supposedly have a 12 hour window to take it, but the packet says I should take it at the same time each day. Hopefully I should be alright. Some women have got pregnant while taking the mini pill at the same time each day so I guess it's just really important to remember to take it roughly at the same time.

Um yes, binging and purging is not a good idea if you're relying on oral contraception. Depending on what's happening with your weight, this plus the stress may also explain the missing period if you're not pregnant.

Even if you don't want to deal with or tell them about the food behaviour now, it's probably worth talking with your GP / a sexual health clinic about other contraceptive options. You can tell them you keep forgetting to take the pill or your work pattern makes it hard to take at the right time or...

Yes you should be able to go into a sexual health clinic walk in centre. I do for mine, I just have to wait a good few hours cause it isn't "urgent" but sexual health clinics should be able to give it to you on a walk in appointment.

You can get tested for whatever you want. :) Ask specifically for an oral swab as not all places give them automatically.

Oral sex is relatively safe so long as you haven't got any open wounds in your mouth, but it's not 100% safe. You don't get STDs from every single unprotected encounter.

If you have anything chances are you'll take a short course of antibiotics and that's the end of it. You might not be able to have sex while you're on the medication, but afterwards it should be fine. The chances of having caught something are pretty low though.

I'd recommend talking to the people at the clinic and seeing if they can give you any additional information.

Even with perfect use there's still a very slight chance of pregnancy so yes, with less than perfect use then of course there's a chance. It's not a definite though! Your week break should be coming up soon, right? If you don't get your withdrawal bleed then do a test.
