Yes, but that is because of nutritional partitioning and the macro-nutrient content per scoop. Each 30g scoop of whey consists of 24g protein, 4g (that is 3g of carbs + 1g of sugar) carbs and 1g of fat, which all contribute towards the 30g weightage of the scoop.

Looking at it calorically, as:
Carbs contain 4 kcal/ gram
Protein contains 4 kcal/ gram
Fat contains 9 kcal/ gram

Each 30g scoop is about 120kcal = (4 x 4) + (24 x 4) + (1 x 9)
It won't be exact as they breakdown their macro nutrients to decimal places on the nutritional label. But, ultimately, the numbers add up showing that despite not having the highest protein dosage, it's free from fillers. There are some seriously dodgy brands out there where the numbers don't even add up!

However, I agree that ON doesn't have the biggest protein number, and there are other ones with higher numbers on the market, who, would charge top dollar, for purely isolating protein. You have to remember, that whey has to be isolated, and cannot be done so perfectly without stupendous production costs!

BTW, I'm not a religious consumer of ON haha, I just used them as an example as they've been in the game for over 20 years!

Just because those fillers aren't calorific doesn't mean they're unkown? Surely they would be on the ingredients label.

If it's the texture of fruit/vegetables that you...

If it's the texture of fruit/vegetables that you don't like, you could always try smoothies? There's a fair bit of fruit that I can't stand (like bananas) but I find they're okayy in smoothie as you can't really taste it, and if there's one or two types of fruit which you can tolerate, or find that you like, stick to those and try and have them evey day/every other day. You could also try to eat sweets/chocolate etc twice a week instead of three times? and reduce how much bread you eat.
For exercise, you could join an exercise class or dance class, whcih can be fun and you meet new friends - not all dance classes are serious with amazing dancers who take it really seriously - I go to one in my town center once a week and it's really relaxed and most of my group use it as a way to socialise, so none of us take our selves seriously :)
Hope this helps x

Hi all. What do you think of the products for weight loss? I have problem with overweight, and i want to use weight loss product. Give me some effective?

My advice would be to stay well away from "fat burners" or any other weight loss supplements. Pretty much all of them are gimmicks and fakes - designed by companies just to rip you off. If you want to lose weight, the only way to healthily and effectively do that is to eliminate refined carbohydrates in your diet (chocolate, fast food, snacks such as crisps etc.), start exercising more frequently - remember to combine Interval Training (if you can do it) with strength training as well as regular cardio such as bike riding.

Hell no, unless you've been and continue to diet...

Hell no, unless you've been and continue to diet properly and train correctly fat burners wont do anything, especially the over the counter fat burners i'm guessing you are talking about.

Take a step back and asses the real issues here... whats causing you to store fat? Does your diet suck... probably.

There are fat burners out there that when coupled with diet can help but even the more hardcore ones (which i would touch unless you're seriously into bodybuilding or your job (modeling etc) depended on looking lean.) still wont do jack without diet, train and recovery.

All the best with your weight loss goals but steer clear of turning to pills to sort your issues out, rarely (if ever) are they the answer.

I have yet to order it and try it, although the ratings seem to be pretty high. Apparently Lemon Cream Pie is the best flavor. However, it's shipped from the US so the delivery charges are absurd. Other than that, there aren't any products that I've personally tried that I can say are great. I'm currently using ON Whey (Strawberry flavor). It's pretty decent with just milk and I much prefer it over the 'double' chocolate flavor.

I posted this response to someone else's...

I posted this response to someone else's question, but it's relevant to yours too. Hope this helps

"A lot of these responses can be generic (eat well, run a bit etc.) but here's what I did. Managed to loose a significant amount in a relatively short period of time. Here's a foolproof guide on how to loose weight.

1. Calorie count
One of the most important things to do. MyFitnessPal was a lifesaver for me personally, as it had most of the items I actually ate on it. Set your goal weight and the app will do the rest. Make sure to track every single thing you eat, and it will become routine afterwards.

2. Join a gym
A lot of people put this aside, saying that they're too expensive and not needed, however visiting a gym will implement routine in your life. Gyms are getting cheaper every year, and there are a lot of budget gyms around with a lot of equipment inside. I personally just used the cross-trainer there, and every session I aimed to 1-up my previous calorie burn. If you're going to use a cross-trainer, always put your weight at about 10kg less than it actually is. This will help in the long run.

3. Get some motivation
Arguably more important than calorie counting, this is VITAL to you succeeding. Maybe there's clothes that you want to wear again, or a holiday that you're looking forward to. Whatever it is, just make sure you keep reminding yourself about it. Write it out and have it as the background on your laptop/computer/phone and stick it on your wall. There are a lot of inspirational videos around on youtube that document weight loss, with quite remarkable results

4. Low-GI / Complex carbs are the way forward
There's a reason why everyone's on about wholesome and wholegrain foods, as these release energy slowly instead of all at once. This therefore will allow you to eat less whilst feeling that you've eaten more, always a good thing. Refined carbohydrates should definitely be avoided, as all excess energy is converted and stored. Although I would avoid eating these at night as they would just be stored.

5. Eating well - Fruit/Veg etc
Ok this one is a given, but let me explain why. Your stomach has receptors on the outside to signal to the brain when it's full or not. Now lets take into consideration the calories from both sides of the spectrum. 500 calories of custard creams will digest into your stomach, however because its not 'filling' as such, the stomach feels like it still needs food, so it will send signals to the brain for you to eat more. However, 500 calories is also the amount of two turkey breasts, mixed vegetables and a small side of couscous. You can probably tell the difference already, and this fills your stomach to a satisfactory level and will signal the brain that it is full. There's a reason fast food and junk food is called calorie dense, and it explains why obesity can be so common!

Well, that's the most effort I've ever put into a post...ever. I hope you follow these tips and get some good results from them, because my hands are killing me!"

If you have a stone of fat to lose before you are in good shape - you aren't gonna lose it in a month. You could lose a stone of weight but you would just end up looking weak and skinny.

I would just accept that it will take more time. Nobody makes a massive body transformation in a month - people who get ripped in a month are the ones that started very lean.

Imagine binging on speed or coke for 1 whole week. could not go flat out at the gym. Actually stopped using. Clearly did work, but was to much for me so stopped using. I checked other reviews and results, it will work however not for me. You don't really need it. Even to get ripped.

I use myprotein. For a few reasons, it's cheap and is great quality (I've used a lot of flavours, vanilla is my favourite). I also struggle with breakfast, so I make a smoothie in the morning which is easier for me to drink, this consists of one scoop of protein, a banana, peanut butter, milk, ice and flax seeds. I'm also a uni student, so money isn't great and this works out as a cheap way for me to hit my macros cheaply for my protein, as we all know hitting carbs cheaply is easy.
