Hello everyone, I was hoping for some advice. I have been offered a place studying nursing 2013 but I fear I'm not smart enough :(
In my heart I know I can be an excellent nurse, I really care for others & their well being and feel honoured to do so but science has never been a strong point for me even GCSE level science I find tough. Do you think I'm kidding myself trying to get a BSc (hons) ??
I am very prepared to put 100% into studying & course work etc but what if it's just not good enough? :(

Yeah! I put 1st garthdee flats, 2nd woolmanhill/rosemount 3rd rasmay development and crathie (I think, could be wrong on that spelling haha) last (: I had no idea what to put! Where ever I go ill need someone to show me round haha only been to Aberdeen once!

I would say do anything you can. With a nursery it shows you 'healthy' kids and 'normal' development and how play is incredible important for development. Hospitals are always going to look good on an application and give you a really good insight. Also good are hospices, respite units, school clubs, summer clubs for children with ld and many more. So pleased to find someone else has applied for pg dip mental health nursing at Sheffield hallam, has been really difficult to find others in the same boat here! I had my interview nearly a month ago now and still haven't heard back despite them saying it will be no longer than 3 weeks until we will find out. Have you heard anything yet?

Yeah September entry:) had my interview mid march but was waiting on my other offers to see where I stood with everything. It feels real now I've firmed sooo nervous and so much at stake cos mines conditional. Have you got an offer yet?

I am in the very lucky position of having been offered a place to study post grad adult nursing at both KCL and South bank University. But I am terrible at decisions!
Family and friends I have spoken to seem to say go for Kings as it is more prestigious and has a better employment rate, but they haven't actually looked at any statistics. The reason I am wavering is because of the research element of the Kings course (and also because I will have to start again and fill in the APL form from scratch for Kings, I have only just finished the South Bank one, eurgh!)
Does anyone have any good reasons why I should choose either? I have spoken to a few people who did the course at Kings but have not been able to find anyone who knows anything about South bank.
They both seemed really nice when i went for interview.

Hi,
I was just wondering what/how much work experience people usually have when they apply for nursing? I currently 2 hours a week volunteering at the hospital on an adult ward, as well as 2 hours a week volunteering at a nursing home for the elderly. I want to do child nursing though so would I be at a disadvantage as I don't have any work experience with children? What relevant work experience could you get with children? (hospital wont let me volunteer on a children's ward as I'm under 18 myself)

well if you want to be closer depends alot i went to a uni far away and now i dont see my mates anymore if your bf is serious about being with you then either make the decision not to see eahc other if you can handle it. if not try your best accomidation is hard i had to do it private for few months and it was loads you need something like 65 ppound a week other then that if its not in halls it might be more im sure there is loads of places doing student deals. but its your choice do you want to be close to him or not but anyway manchester is a good uni. hmmm hard choice anyway grats. again im def having to wait till clearing tell me who you choose and how you get on see you got wait till fakin august jeese lol,

I'm thinking of getting a flat with my big brother cos he lives there too, hated halls when i stayed in them 2 years ago and am too scared to go back :P I'll see how it goes though! which halls did you go for?

Just wondering how you're all getting on? Just firmed my offer for a place on the adult branch starting next jan :D (they've moved it forward to jan start instead of april now, they said it was a long story why!). Any tips or anything you think I need to know? Still a long way off, but thought I'd ask just as you're starting, plus I'm really excited :P

Thanks, I'm a bit confused about the bursary - do we have to apply for it, even if we are not eligible, to get the NHS to pay for our tuition fees?

Can you not get the maintenance loan for Childcare on the Masters?

I'm starting a nursing course in September and have found loads of websites offering different sets, e.g. tourniquets, steths and sphygs. Do you need to buy these or do you get given them by the university. Its a question I never thought to ask!!

Hello I'm just looking for some advice really ! I've applied to do adult nursing and I should be starting in April and I have been successful in being offered a place with the university knowing I have a reprimand on my crb. I'm really scared that they are going to turn around and decide they don't want me when I fill in the crb form surely if they were going to do this they wouldn't have accepted me in the first place or would they ?
If anyone has got any advice on this I would be sincerely grateful x

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have unfortuantly been unsuccessful in the 5 of my UCAS options however did an 'extra' and have successfully got an interview on the 1st of May 2013. This is my 2nd interview from the 6 choices. I was wondering does anyone have any useful links for the following:
1) What is the latest in the news I could talk about
2) A clear explanation of the difference between a Nursing degree and a Midwifery degree.
Finally I also have to sit an English and Maths exam. What types of topics would I potientially have to write about in the English test?

I am trying to get onto the nursing course and Coventry university.
i have my gcses but need a levels
i have just accepted a job at Coventry hospital as a healthcare assistant in the maternity wards. But after speaking to cov uni the qualifications you take there are not enough to get into their uni.
so I'm looking to find an access course I can do from home. I have a 2 yr old so I have to work so I'm looking for a course I can do from home as the nearest course to me is ill time at college.
i understand ill have to pay for it but has anyone done this course from home? Can they advise me on where they did it
