I have an 8-hour week with English, but you're meant to do a lot of your own studies, reading and research in areas you find interesting to top it up. For every hour you're taught you *should* be doing 3 hours at home (although people rarely do).

that's awesome! My first year was amazing but I have a few regrets. I didn't join many societies, which I'm planning on fixing this year. I also managed to make myself quite ill during the second semester which made my grades suffer a lot... and the fact I had 70 credits that semester really didn't help!

In any case I'm really looking forward to my second year!
