- About me
- The University of Buckingham, located in the rustic town of Buckingham in the South East of England, is one the UK’s only independent universities. Its distinctive approach to higher education has allowed it to tailor its programmes around its students’ strengths and this has been reflected in the national student survey where Buckingham has come top for student satisfaction for 7 years in a row. Among its distinguishing features are:
2 year degree – Traditional 3 year degrees can be completed in two years through the university’s unique four-term academic year.
Multiple entry points – The University has 3 entry points: January, July and September.
Staff to Student Ratio - We have 1 member of staff for every 10 students, compared to around 1 for every 18 students on average in other universities in the UK.
Graduate Prospects - We have come top of the Times table for university prospects for 2012. 100% of our graduates were either employed or undertaking further studies a short while after graduating in 2011.
We have come top of the National Student Satisfaction survey for 7 years in a row now since 2006.
We have been ranked 16th out of 120 institutions in the Guardian League Table 2012.
We have one of the smallest student populations in the UK, with around 1800 students across our 4 schools. 60% of the student body are international students from around 100 different countries. The very multi-cultural campus is an integral part of the student experience.

Hello, I’m Jamie.
Since graduating from Buckingham with a bachelor’s degree, I became part of the marketing/admissions department, dealing with UK and EU students. Having recently been a student myself, I’m well positioned to answer questions regarding life at Buckingham, as well as to deal with course specific enquiries. I do a little travelling around the British Isles, meeting with students keen to find out what a truly unique university can do for them. Please do get in touch!
