Strangey (Offline)  

That sounds good - I've done a lot of front of house work in the hospitality industry and I'm about to start working for the uni doing accommodation tours in Fallowfield, so I know how to be smiley and upbeat with groups of strangers I managed to 'tick all the boxes' on the application form, but the thing that I hope won't count against me is that they ask what school you went to. I know there's some outreach work involved in some of the more deprived communities of Manchester, so I hope having been to a fee paying school (although I did get EMA and now a full uni bursary!) won't harm my application.

I suppose I'll just have to wait until later this month before I find out if I've been invited for an assessment day!

I didn't want to hijack the thread, but I noticed you said that you were going to be helping out at the next UoM open day.

Anyway, are you a student ambassador, or something else? I've just applied for the SA role, but I'd love some info on what to expect at the assessment day, should I get on it!

I dont know if you'll like it, but these photos taken by the same guy are certainly interesting, its a side of Manchester you dont see, and many dont know exists, such as this, which is the tower on the town hall I believe!

If you go to flickr, search manchester and then filter for most interesting, there are some superb shots of the city! But you'll have to find your way through the photos of other places that were tagged with Manchester and, weirdly, many photos of cross dressers :P
