  10. I'm not an SA, no! I'm giving prospective UG (and maybe the odd PG) students talks about the schools of Materials and Medicine and what it's like coming to uni etc. However I do know what they're looking for, having done a bit of work on the interviews for this year's new recruits. Normal stuff front-of-house stuff: are you polite, happy, enthusiastic. You need to have a decent knowledge of the uni (obviously) but you get the maps of course, so it's not like you had to have memorised everything. Generally, you can't be going into your final year either - something about taking too long to train people up. They often wave that though, so it's no biggie if it's a problem for you.

General responsibility would vary depending on your job: you could be standing in one place for the whole time telling people to get on a coach for a tour of some halls, or you could be doing walking tours of buildings or faculty areas. Depends on their requirements really. Anything else I can help you with?

    About me
I'm currently in the middle of exams and cannot guarantee to reply to PMs quickly. Before PMing me, please consider if it's conceivable that someone else might be able to answer your question, and if so please post in the public forums. I don't mean to be unfriendly / unhelpful, it's just that you will probably get a faster response on the public forums, and I may still answer it there myself.

One of the most common subjects that I receive a PM on is the subject of Manchester accommodation, so here's a link where you can usually find the answer (read the first page!), or failing that ask your own question http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=2091577
