Haha, ah man I feel betrayed by whatever/whoever made me think differently before! Here was me thinking Leeds was one of the Russell Group unis that admitted the most state school students but apparently it's like some prime destination for toffs! Haha yeah well I couldn't afford Devonshire anyway, and Bodington's getting closed down so Lupton it'll be I suppose. half an hour walk to the uni...
I can't really think of any more proper questions...but before you're like, yay! she's shut up! aha, can you think of any cons of the uni or anything you wish you wish you knew before you came?

Even compared to London/Essex? That's impressive then! I think it's probably due to the amount of students. London nightlife doesn't really target the penniless students
Oh yeah I heard about that, hear anything good about Lupton? I think it's in/near Headingley so would probably be good
When you say 'there's just a lot more of a buzz here' do you mean here as in Leeds or Sheffield...? And why?
Ahah yeah, that's what I thought until I saw all these old threads saying Leeds is 'rah central' when I'd met all these lovely down to earth people at my interview!

Ah that's good to know, just making sure the people that said Leeds nights out were good just because they hadn't experienced 'city life' before.
Where did you stay for your first year? Or what accomodation is the most social?
Also, because you said you're a Sheffield Hallam postgraduate, how does Sheffield compare to Leeds? I've got an offer from Sheffield too and don't know whether I should have a look cos I'm pretty set on Leeds I think!
I've heard from people, and I've seen some of the people that probably fit that Oxbridge reject title, but as long as the majority of people aren't swanning about like that, it's all good I suppose - one of the reasons I chose to apply to Leeds was because I thought it was a good, Russell Group uni but not a pretentious one, unaware of the reputation it had for being otherwise in some cases aha...
Sorry if i'm bombarding you with questions and stuff, its really helpful to get a proper perspective from a student at Leeds other than the OTT ones you get at open days that LOVE everything!

Hey, I'm planning on firming Leeds for deferred entry for English and Drama in 2013 but would just like a wider opinion on it really - seeing as you're a grad it makes sense to ask, if you wouldn't mind helping aha! I'm from London so when people say Leeds' nightlife is mental, I don't know if this is just to people that haven't experienced central London or places like Southend and whatever too...what's it like in comparison to an Essex night out?
Also, what are the people like there? I've heard it's full of your down to earth partygoers but also a place for Oxbridge rejects, normally everyone's answer to this is 'there's a range of everyone blah blah' which makes sense but thought I'd ask anyway!
