Prospective Imperial medic here - got the offer but gotta make a choice between Imperial and Manchester.

I saw you're a first year medic and wondered whether you'd mind telling me what Imperial's really like How is the accommodation, and what's living in London like? How are the facilities i.e.library and so on. I hear Imp gets a lot of flak about the male female ratio, but also hear that that's not so much the case in the med school and that it's about equal. Is this true?

Also, what's you're weekly schedule like? What are the hours and so on? Do you find you are really worked hard?
Do you feel you are supported? Because I've read some things about Imperial only really caring about their reputation. It seems like too good an offer to turn down, though!

Also, do you do any humanities courses?

Hey Crazy once again I need your help please it's about medicine. I managed to visit ICL on it's open day and i loved it, this would definitely be my first place medical school. However I here that they like students doing all sciences even though they don't state it for medicine - any ideas if this is true?

I did do 3 sciences: Maths Chemistry Biology and I also did RE and Psychology. but the problem is that i got a C in maths (I will drop psychology) so when I get my predicted grades and if I choose to apply to Imperial this year, they would be something like this, A*AAB/A*AAC and the B/C being in maths so they might not like it.

Any ideas?

Lemon could i ask what Imperial are like on GCSEs, i tried to find out but they are a bit blunt, if the BMAT cannot guarantee you an interview and they are not bothered as much about AS levels, what about GCSEs, and are they PS heavy?

I want to got to university to study medicine i was wondering whether you could tell me what to do and other info if needed
I have 1.5A* 7A 4B at GCSE
and I am hopefully/determined to get AAAAA in my AS in bio,chem, phy, maths, general studies and then get A*A*A*A at A level in Bio, chem, phy, general studies repectivly. Is this good enough to get into medicine?
And how did you revise for gen std if you did it?

Alot of people on here do seem to moan about imperial. As for accomodation it really depends on your budget. If you are a crazy rich international or home student then the abosolute best accomadation is the premium rooms at eastside/southside. But these are also very expensive. Other expensive but not as rediculous cost is the single ensuites in beit/eastside/southside. Nice and close to campus. If you want cheaper then go for the halls further out with ensuite or twin rooms/non ensuite nearer. Absolte cheapest possible is I think some rooms that are triples. depends on your price range really. Also no guarantee you will get one of your 5 choices because certain rooms types tend to be oversubscribed. As for twin rooms they can work amazingly, ok, or if really unlucky terribly (but even then you make it work and it isn't so bad)
