  1. Hi, so as only one more of my friends is watching the presentation, I can pick another question that they can ask me and I can hopefully prepare for. I chose question 9a. How would a deeply religious person studying the natural world differ from an atheist? Well, I think this was the question.

So I believe that a theist could never approach a scietific study without bias as perhaps they could find some pattern or produce a theory that their religion does not agree with. Obviously, due to the emotional attachment to their religion they may ignore findings or alter them to suit their religion. An atheist would be more neutral as they dont have such an attachment, they can view the facts and establish conclusions from these. Although, there may be exceptions, some atheists may hold very strong beliefs and this could cloud their judgement as well.

So basically, theists in a way already have the conclusions, such as Muslims believe in the big bang. If through an experiment the big bang was disproved then they may alter the experiment to suit their already formed conclusion from religious scripture. Atheists collate the facts and then make their conclusions from this.

    So, what do you think?

  3. Hey, thanks a lot, for the help. Are you an MBA as well? What is your educational background?
