So that's the main reason why ... the modules thing makes people perceive that CIE is harder (excluding Maths, of course). That's also what makes the IB harder than A-Level right? The whole "if you fail one, you fail your whole certificate" thing.
I checked with my school; will be doing a bunch of boards, I think. Edexcel, OCR, AQA and other stuff I can't remember! Definitely not CIE though. I think CIE's trying to be a meanie this session
-
HEYY Sorry for the late reply. TSR never showed me the notifications up till now. I heard that CIE is rather difficult too. I'm still now sure how to weigh the different difficulties of individual exam boards though. Shouldn't they all be the same, since they should be testing for the same skills and abilities?
Yeah well, at least you managed to scrape pretty good marks from it all
-
You're right, I think. I highly doubt they'd be that cruel! Let's not talk about IGCSE for now, since I'm sure you find them easy compared with what you have to do now How did you find A-levels?
PSSSH IT was never my best subject anyway
-
Psh, that's just you speaking! Although I wouldn't mind if they changed the entire syllabus after my session I think they already are ... the style of the questions are very different, so I've noticed. ICT's practical paper was killer, and we had to do stuff we were never taught before. Their theory paper was set in the same style though, except with more recent technology (again, nothing that we've learned before).
You can say it's a little bit of a shock when we open the papers. Then again, they should lower the grade boundaries, shouldn't they?
-
Ooof ouch, the kidney We had to learn it, unfortunately.
YEAH! You guys got off easy, learning 20th century technology (in 2008 i'm pretty sure magnetic tapes were still in the syllabus ). My textbook deserves to be burnt to the ground. I quote: 'USBs, or pen drives, are now being increasingly popular. They range from 256 Mb, 512 Gb, and some even accomodate up to 1 Gb'.
I suppose i'm doing Single Award Science The other option is Double Award Coordinated Sciences, right?
