Hey, saw one of your posts regarding the usefulness of a History degree. I have an offer to study History at University of Manchester, however I'm concerned about the future. Most people on TSR disregard arts and humanities degrees, whereas when you read an article via google, you get a different picture; a range of careers are open to history grads, law, civil service, finance; business + commerce, teaching, research, accountancy, politics...etc. Is it true? Manchester won't release graduate destinations to me, so I have no idea :/ thanks xx

Hi, I see you are completing History and Politics, I am soon to be starting it, just wondering briefly how you found the degree overall? Was it worth it?
-
Hiya, I was just going through the history forums and was wondering whether you are a history student or teacher ? If so have you studied about the chinese civil war by any chance ?
-
Ah ok, just saw your message on my thingy. Good luck with your studies, I still owe you some rep. I think I shall by and large bow out of that thread though since I cba dealing with what people are posting lol. Aah I really none of those idiots want to become Historians.

Shame it is. The partition came about entirely because of Jinnah's Muslim League and Muslim/Hindus differences from as early as the beginning of the 20th century because of how Hindu dominated the INC was. The British wanted to leave behind a united India but the Muslim League wouldn't allow it.
Read a book on the matter.

I quite like your account of Imperial history regarding the partition.
Just a shame it isn't true
-
Just a note for me to rep you for your contributions on the British DNA thread, you seem to know what you're about re: Oppenheimer's contentious and often ludicrous thesis which is a first time for TSR.
What do you study incidentally?
