  1. Hey,
I was just going through some old threads to get some info on HEI geneva, and you seemed to have a little insight
    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1385449

Also you seemed to have been experienced in International sector.
I would really like if you could answer some questions regarding this.
I too am interested in working mainly in the International development and policy sector...currently I am just finishing off my undergrad in economics. I plan to continue with a masters and then work with some of the international agencies like asian development bank, imf, UN etc. I know its really difficult actually getting into this field, but what do you think is the best way after my grad school to get into this sector? I eventually plan to come back to my country i.e. India and get involved in actual policy making here but before that I want some international exposure, travel around. I read that you were working in: Security and Development in North Africa and the Middle East. How did you get into this area of work? I plan to do masters in economics with a specialization in international and development economics, is this a right degree to get an opening into this field?

Plus did you get into HEI, though I have applied there, I'm not keeping my hopes very high because of my lack of work experience. but either way if you did get through: how is the school? Which course have you applied for? And the job opportunities after that?

    Thanks a ton
    Sorry for the looong post.

  4. Hello!

I decided to send you an e-mail after I had seen your post on the Graduate Institute.I'm thinking about applying to the Institute in January 2012 (for a MA in PolSci), but I don't know if I have a chance of getting in. Could you please evaluate my chances?

Graduated in Political Science at the University of São Paulo (Brazil's best university - my average score: 8.0/10)
MA in Political Science at the same university (8 disciplines: 6A's, 2B's)
2 forthcoming articles in Brazilian peer-reviewed publications
2x participant of IR national congresses
1x discussant at the International Political Science Association international meeting
Cambridge Proficiency of English Certificate (B)
    DALF B1
    Goethe-Zertifikat A2
2 short-duration courses in Germany (funded by a German foundation)
3 good letters of reference from professors directly involved in my work

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thank you very much for your attention, and sorry for annoying you

  8. Hello,

Just like A*Student, i stumbled across your post about transferring into the 2nd year.

My question is about ucas. I'm currently on the education part of the form and was wondering if i needed to put my current uni on it and if i do what do i put down for qualifications?

    Many Thanks
  9. Hello,

I just happened to stumble across your post which said that you transferred from Westminster to Queen Mary after your first year.

I got trough clearance into Westminster because I missed my other offers from unis like QM, UCL or Kings.

But I don't see myself at Westminster next year.

So I just wanted to ask you some questions and i hope you don't mind answering:

How did you transfer after first year?

Did you apply trough UCAS all over again and retook your A-Levels (and did well in first year at Westminster) or did you just contact the Uni you wanted to go to and asked them about transferring?

Did you have offers from Queen Mary and Co. the first time around or Westminster you initial 1st choice?

    Answers will be appreciated
  10. oops, I means when I applied there "were" 4 specialization areas in the MIS program.
