There are ski centres but only in the Highlands, which are way too far away! I grew up in the Pennines/Peak District so there was way more snow on the ground (enough to ski on 30% of the winter perhaps) compared to here in Glasgow (a few mornings), and you did actually see x-country skiers sometimes. No actual courses or biathlon though.

Ah, that would explain it. I was kinda hoping you were British so I'd finally find someone in this country who knows it, but German will do. I turned Eurosport on sometime in 2005 and then I was hooked! So much more exciting than sports with only one discipline. I can only Alpine Ski though, argh.
