Well, usually your PS is your safety net. If they ask you, what do you like about chemistry for example, you can blabber on about a topic on your PS in detail. If you feel your interview is going downhill, steer it in your favour by bringing up things that you've mentioned in your PS. My friends were grilled about their ones but I wasn't. When I say know it inside out, you have to ask yourself what sort of questions the interviewer might ask based on what you've written. They're not going to say, 'tell me about this...' and leave it at that. Chances are, they're going to ask leading questions following that.

Erm, they're pretty efficient and you should hear after a week or so.

Just know your PS inside out and have a favourite reaction, just to be on the safe side. If anything, it's probably not going to be as tough as your Imperial interview so don't overthink it buddy!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Imperial personally (not trying to persuade you). If you check out unistats, you can compare the courses between the two unis. It's a combination of labs and the atmosphere that put me off.

Well I'm not so sure. I am quite tempted to go for UCL actually. I can't tell if I'm going to go into chemistry as a career. UCL offers a better platform for other jobs, banking being one of them (not that it tickles my fancy too much).

Ah I got rejected from Oxford too haha but I'm not too bothered about it. I have offers from Durham, UCL, Warwick and Bristol. I imagine Imperial's going to be your firm, no? Best of luck anyway! It'll be a piece of cake

Haha yeah I guess it's relieving not having to worry about securing grades.
With the UCL question, I went on for some time, muttering on about the facilities, the location and being in close proximity to the Royal Institute. I actually lied about going to a lecture there and was ****ting myself cos the interviewer himself worked at the Royal Institute and had to quickly divert his attention onto something else

Ah well, they want to see how you would do in an actual university setting, i.e. assessing your ability to take notes (there are questions on the lecture btw) but it's all just phoney to make you believe it's hard to get in. I highly doubt that's what they'll take into account. It's more for your own benefit.

When is your interview? I'm surprised it's so late in the year though? Any offers elsewhere?

Ah hey buddy. I didn't get an interview this year (post a level) but from what I remember from last year, it was really basic stuff like why UCL, why do we use mechanisms, bond lengths etc. Oh and you have a lecture to sit through where you make notes and they take your notes in. But relax, I think they put these things in place as a formality. If you've got an interview, you're pretty much in Good luck!

Well they said they would let us know in about a week. I heard I thinks 8 days afterwards, I got an email from the admissions department. But they don't send the conditions for the offer until a few weeks.
