First of all, well done! Enjoy your summer and get ready for an intense, but rewarding five years!
Regarding accommodation, you've generally got 2 broad choices. Oadby student village, and on campus accommodation.
Oadby student village is about 2-3 miles out from the campus, but buses run regular as clockwork and take about 15 minutes either way.
There are several halls in Oadby-
John Foster (the newer, nicer and more expensive ones)
Gilbert Murray Stamford (with several different halls in it, some of which are crap, some of which are decent)
Beaumont Hall (Old, but nice)
Digby Hall (Piece of ****)
and then several other small houses.
You'll want to try to avoid Stamford hall and possibly Digby. John Foster seems the nicest with Beaumont coming up second, and bits of GMS aren't so bad either.
On campus, you've got Nixon Court, which isn't so bad and it's really close to the med school. Opal Court is fantastic, but fantastically expensive too. Usually reserved for internationals.
Any other Qs, let me know.

Hey! Don't worry, I was convinced that I had got a rejection because my whole application was actually really average. I'm Irish so I didn't do GCSEs, but in my Junior Cert I got 7As and 3Bs(we don't have A* in Ireland). In my Leaving Cert I'm predicted for 4A1s (including chemistry and biology), 2A2s, a B1 and a distinction. (Basically an A1 is over 90%, an A2 is over 85% and a B1 is over 80%) I also do piano exams and so far have done grades 1 to 7, and I will be doing grade 8 in April. My UKCAT was awful, I only got an average of 612.5. I'd never written a personal statement before and my career guidance officer had never written a reference before either, so I doubt that they were very good because neither of us knew what to do! I have done a good bit of work experiance though and I play sport and 6 different instruments, but other than that I don't know why they picked me! Also, I only applied the day before the deadline! So basically if I can get an interview ANYONE can! Sure I suppose no news is good news at the moment and I bet you'll get an interview soon! I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!!!!!
