I swear as soon as I sent it I got a thought that you might be Muslim too, haha! It didn't piss me off exactly, it just came accross as somewhat patronizing which I obviously resented as I assumed that you were non-Muslim.

To be honest I think it is nearly impossible to be 'too liberal'; 'your work is for you and my work is for me, you are clear of what i do and i am clear of what you do' to quote the Qur'an (it's something like that anyways...).

I know quite a few Muslims IRL who are quite - very accepting of SGM Muslims but I don't think I know any who actually believe it is not sinful, like I do. I have met a few people on the internet though that are in agreement with me and that is comforting too. I think the worst thing for most people who are radically progressive Muslims like myself is the loneliness because it's difficult to find people on a similar wavelength, do you find that too?

I am somewhat offended by what would have been your preconception of me before my post as I don't think generalising 1.5 billion people under any kind of stereotype is an intelligent and/or kind thing to do. However, I do realise that many people do not have much exposure to members of the Muslim population and generally the 'GAY IS WRONG' ones shout louder than the rest of us, generally because they are safer to do so. Contrary to popular belief, Islam does NOT teach to shun gay people, and it DOES teach kindness to others. There are vast amounts of Muslims who realise this, too.
