I suppose what the significant thing is, is the 'pay SCALE'. Come to think of it, jobs whose salaries are "dependent on experience", usually state a RANGE for the potential salary. So, the salary is anywhere within the said range, and will be the same for a man or a woman with the same level of experience etc. I suppose it TECHNICALLY classes as paying two people differently, for the same job. Justifiably so. I was just wondering how this sits with the 'equal pay act', as in, what clauses are there. Don't get me wrong, I think the 'wage gap' is nonsense, it can ONLY be, from a business/economic point of view. Just wondering how the act is interpreted.

I just wanted to say, I actually agree totally, with your posts regarding feminism and the wage gap. Not many women do, but it makes perfect sense to me. Just one thing, though: what classes as 'the same job'? I mean, a lot of job advertisments state 'salary dependent on experience'.
