Thank you for your post about Birmingham university. I will consider it for sure.
I would like my UCAS application to be evenly distributed. For example; I want one super-elite university, one (maybe two) A* demanding universities, a top AAA university and a safety choice.
As it stands;
Oxford A*AA
Durham A*AA
Warwick AAA
[Nottingham AAA/Manchester A*AA/Birmingham AAA-A*AA]
Sheffield AAB/York AAA
Because of Further Maths, it means I will know whether I've achieved an A* in Maths first-time round. If I do achieve the A* then I'll probably apply to Manchester (perhaps Birmingham etc) but if I don't then I may apply to Nottingham instead.
I am currently considering applying for the UNIQ Oxford summer school programme (Physics). It seems very interesting and something I would love to do, but my GCSE's aren't great and the 10% success rate is off-putting. My Physics teacher told me I should apply though. What do you think?

Ah I did Maths, F Maths, Physics and Chem but I only need 3 for Uni
I got rejected from Oxford aha but to be honest wasn't too bothered, everything that was going on around that time was more important to me than getting in there so when I got rejected it wasn't a big deal.
Um just my Dad and younger sister, she's just finished year 11. Wbu?

Maths, Further Maths, Economics and History. Would like to study PPE at Oxford, but I'm starting to doubt that since I got rejected from their summer school.
Who are you living with atm if you don't mind me asking?
-
Really? How does that work out?
-
Noo I'm still in Year 12.
Don't even want to think about uni right now. How have things been going for you?

West London. Yourself?

Hey there, I read your post on a thread where you said you lost your mum and grandad when you were in the process of getting into uni and I just fely compelled to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. That must have been such an awful thing to go through and I really wish you the best of luck in the future.

Mmm. I dunno if you heard about the guy who was killed in Afghanistan this week but that was someone from my school's older brother, and she's lost both parents to cancer as well, her mum very recently. Kind of puts things into perspective

My oh my arent you a smarty pants! Haha good luck with all that!
I'm studying Bsc Psychology at Bradford- had to stay local to take care of my mum so rejected other unis. Sacrifices have to be made dont think I'd feel right leaving my mum anyway
Its the right thing to do, you cant just live in the past. Your sister needs to see youre doing ok in order to feel as if she can if you get what I mean
Good luck though

+ General Studies but I don't really count that ahaa. But I'm hoping to do Physics at Birmingham in September
What about you?
Yeah as horrible as it sounds you do start to move on
