I'm sure you've had other people pester you about life post Big 4 ACA but I was hoping to pick your brain a little as well.

Next September i'll be starting in Audit at KPMG but I've become a bit concerned about the exit opportunities. Ideally I'd like to move into Equity Research as you have done, hence the message.

What I wanted to know is how exceptional/difficult is that? Did you work in audit or something like Transaction Services which I've heard is a more suitable route into IB in a general sense.

I've considered applying for grad schemes in IB's but for one I'm not sure about my chances of success,(Went to Exeter (Russell Group, top 10) and studied Economics and Finance 2.1 with no relevant work experience), and I've also heard some horror stories about people losing their original offer ending up with nothing.

Just hoped you might have some thoughts on all this and it goes without saying that it will be genuinely appreciated.

Hi Mate,

I will be joining PwC London Risk Assurance with LTT this April. My background is Mechanical Engineering from India. Worked two years as a Software Developer with Tata Consultancy Services. Studied my Masters in Business and Management at Strathclyde. I would be really obliged if you could kindly provide me some tips on the following :

1) How is ACA ? Is it really tough ? I don't have a problem with putting effort.
2) How is risk assurance if you are acquainted ? How much is chance of International travel with LTT ? do I get to apply my technical expertise here ?
3) Post qualification , given I render the effort, can I move into Bulge bracket or Banks ? though I won't be disappointed if I stay with audit. rather what options are there for me coming from Risk Assurance ?

Please consider PwC is sponsoring my Tier 2 Visa...so moving might not be smooth for me.

After reading about how you made the switch to research i was hoping that you might be able to help me with my situation. I am starting at PwC-financial advisory (london) this september. I think that the role sounds really interesting (valuations) but do you have any idea if i'll be doing anything resembling audit during my first year. It might be a stupid question but i made it clear during my partner interview that i don't want to do audit
Also, I have a summer internship at a BB IB in Sales & Research prior to my start date at PwC. I really like the sound of both, but Research is a bit more appealing. Hopefully, i'll get an offer out of it but if i don't do you think valuations is helpful for sales & research?
Finally, and pardon my intrusion, but would you mind telling me where you are working now and how difficult it was to get? I've heard that ACAs are coveted by Nomura.

hello there.......... my name is saad and i shall be going to the uni of warwick this october i need some info about the big 4 companies and i read your thread about the aca qualification which was very helpful. i am an international student and hope to secure a grad role in anyone of the big 4 once i graduate. my course is acc and finance at warwick. plus i did a 2 month internship at deloitte in my home country and have 4 a grades in my a levels. what chance do u think i have of getting into the big 4? sorry for the long post

I've just read a post about how you got a 2:1 degree in A+F without A Level maths and was hoping for some advice as im keen on dropping it next year. Please reply back ...oh and what Uni did you get in to aswell???? lol sorry 4 being nosy but my accounting teacher just told me i need maths to be an accountant..

If you don't mind me asking what A levels did you do and what results dud you get?
