Hi..I hope you accept me as your friend because I'm really interested in Philosophy (and really really want to go to Oxford or Cambridge to study it..)..so I was just searching on the internet when I found this site and saw one of your replies regarding a question on Oxford University.. I'm currently a sophomore in high school and will soon take the IB diploma.. so I just want to ask you some questions if you don't mind..!!

Thought I'd PM you as you are probably the only person whose ever agreed with a post of mine along those lines. (That, and to avoid the inevitable onslaught of negs by the naysayers!)

Where is it you're going to study, and what course? I'm headed for Imperial to study physics, and (besides the fact I'll have -£1000 to start with) I can't wait!

oh yeah i see the dickwia quotes now, its still very much the same comments now as well haha.
my family is now pretty well off, but when i was young we were reliant on income support and other benefitsjust to put food on the table and keep the heating and lights on and training given thanks to labour, now my mums a fully qualified engineer and my dad is on DLA, unfortunate but it pays for the help he needs, my sister has a full time job, again thanks to labour enabling us to take training and education and im at a decent uni, wouldnt have got there without ema and the help from benefits, which the conservatives are slashing, it makes me furious when the middle class self entitled children on here pontificate about "scroungers" and "self reliance, stand on your own two feet"

They always have done, arguing with conservatives is like facing a brick wall, the same guy you were arguing with has been on a thread calling homosexuality immoral and saying it should be "discouraged" and the infamous dykwia (the person posting on my wall about how gays should be treated by electroshock therapy etc), they want the world run according to their opinions and dont care about anyone less fortunate, theres a quote by someone i cant remember who which is something like,

"i have the liberty to get rich and you have the liberty to starve"
sums them up perfectly, i think, but its good to see another person with the same views as me here its been getting progressively more right wing on here recently ive noticed
