So as I actually compared the US torture of their own citizens to Irans, and said that Americans were hypocrites if he had bothered to read it all up he wouldn't be so stupid to say something so ignorant. You can even bring up lynching etc, the current oppressive regime only came about due to america's hands in Iran and helping the Shah out even as he became unpopular which resulted in anger within the community which allowed Ayatollah Khomeini to step into power. So I mean if he had any knowledge of history he wouldn't be able to say anything about Iran because the world follows cause and effect and this was a result of the US role in Iran. I just can't be asked to go into detail for someone who rejected everyone of my points and made a point based on very little knowledge of the situation.

If he had read about it he wouldn't have continued saying I hadn't answered his point. Also if he had read about MK-Ultra and Project 4.1 he would have discovered that the american government had in the past used their own people as human experiments, though all records of these human rights violations were destroyed. They even had an Aversion project where they castrated homosexuals, but evidence of that was quickly covered up. I basically told him to read up on all this - he refused his problem not mine. The Tuskegee Syphilis Study where they injected 400 african americans with syphilis.

Also he started saying that the US's torture was for the greater good, but many inmates are actually in there without a fair trial with little evidence. So you can't say Ahbu Ghraid is for the greater good. Consider how many civilians America has killed in compared to the whole of the middle east, so saying something like they're protecting civilians is slightly ludicrous. They're protecting their civilians at the cost of others. I technically did answer his message when I told him to read about how the hand the US had to play in destroy the Imperial State of Iran which had no human rights violations and causing the Islamic State to come to power, it's just I worded it in a way that kind of insulted him and told him to read about it.

Al-Jazeera's surprisingly good. When I first started to watch it I was incredibly prejudice and thought they were just a news channel which preached extremist views, but after I actually opened my eyes I realised how it was nothing like that. Really surprising, the BBC and the UK and US made it sound like some sort of Islamic Wahabi Propoganda tool. Before the war, they were praised but apparently during the war their base was even attacked with american missiles, because of their coverage of the war which was condemned. Yeh the guy just said my points were adolescent drivel, and made his own points which I had already pointed out. Then that Wucker woman agreed with him, after I got annoyed and insulted him; he deserved it. He just said you can't compare Iran with the US, I said the US were hypocrites and can't really condemn Iran with the everything they've been involved with and the hand they had to play in creating the modern mess.

Your point about media coverage is very important. I try to get a bigger picture so I try to watch some American media, some from Asian, and also al-jazeera aswell as things like BBC. Really the hypocrisy of Western foreign policy is just so clear, I just can't understand how people can just ignore them. I don't know if this is true , but David Cameron did actually say Britain has done a lot of damage to the world. If our pm can why can't these idiots? I don't know how a person of 25 can just ignore facts like some child. But hey what can you do, you can only tell them the truth, it's their choice if they want to accept it or not. Don't know exactly whta this guy said but he just reminds me of another Christian on student room. He said islam is bad , provded quotes from Quran etc. I said fine this guys done some research. But then I gave him a quote from leviticus arguing for killing of homosexuals. He just ignored it , while condemning all muslims.

What's the word really ignorant. I've kind accepted points that area reasonable but yet every good case I make is ignored and a stupid weak point is made which if they had read what I said they wouldn't be able to make. -_-

Honestly debating with such people isn't worth it, it's more of a drunken brawl where the whole point is to irritate each other with blissful ignorance. The stuff you said about the Mosques is quote a good point, a clear example of information failure from one perspective but from my perspective I view it as part of the market mechanism. They are paying for "good deeds", "a place in heaven" or just "charity". Though as all are difficult to disprove or prove I can't really say much - I just personally think that donations aren't a huge problem though this is just personal. So far you're the only guy who managed to raise a good argument but otherwise it's been just blissful ignorance.

mean - I had whole paragraphs of points and studies just basically saying America are hypocrites and they seem to have a lot to do with the stuff happening in the middle east at the moment. I mean if people really knew about lawrence of arabia and what happened there they wouldn't be trying to argue with me. -_-

Dude - what's the point of arguing on that the thread, the monkey, wucker and india guys are by far more arrogant then many of the muslims arguing. e.g the whole point of debating should be to teach the opposition something new; you've achieve this yet none of the others have. I've been trying to refer to numerous studies nobody has bothered to even look at. -_-
