  1. Fine, alright, thanks Be careful what you wish for! This Jan's paper was the hardest it's ever been! Everyone was kinda shocked

Does she enjoy physics? As that may be why...
  2. Well that sucks! Surely you can always enter yourself for the exam? But correct me if I'm wrong. You probs would've aced it aswell!
    Pretty decent I guess

  3. Hey Ellena, so how amazing did you do in your Jan exams?
  4. im basically doing work placements in a local hospital, volunteering if I can get hold of some vacant places. Just retaking some exams too!
  5. Well, I finished my A-levels this year, got BBC, annoyingly I was a mark off an A in maths overall and in chemistry i was 6 marks off an A overall so it's a gap year for me. I also did Biology and got a C respectively.

Maths can be very fun and enjoyable if you understand the material xD.

So now I'm on a gap year, I missed my offers last year as I applied for pharmacy. So im reapplying this year. Also I'm doing work experience in a hospital soon (in the pharmacy dept ofc)
  6. Nice, yeah, so what are your plans now? Surely you must be in college or sixth form by now? What subjects are you taking?
  7. Same with french, just memorising speeches!
Of course, they are wrong when they say it's easy...when i sat them 2 years ago, i found some difficult and some alright, none were piss easy. (perhaps RE )

    Your welcome
  8. I also saw your blog video on TSR and I was about to raise some of the comments James A talked about.
The system needs a shakeup, many more people are just cramming and memorising the info when you have modules and after those modules are over, the information is forgotten. I can't even remember some of the science stuff I learnt at GCSE simply because I was told to just memorise, sit the exam and move on.
We need more rigour, simple as that.

I just saw the vblog videos that TSR put on their page regarding the changes made to the GCSE's. You raised some interesting points in your video, but still, you cannot deny the fact that GCSE's are straightforward (I'm not saying their easy) qualifications and just aren't rigorous enough to prepare 15/16 year olds for post 16 education. GCSE's need to be more rigorous.

Take me as an example, I did nothing and literally I mean nothing for the whole two years of my Spainsh GCSE. Only a month before the exam I actually started to prepare for my writing and listening exam and yet I came out with an A overall at the end. I was relieved when i saw that on my results sheet, but do you justify the fact that students like myself can revise a month before the exams (for a course that I had to take for 2 years) and still pull off a good grade? The system needed tweaking, but yes I think it's a slight over exaggeration when you hear people of high stature (Nick Clegg) implying that GCSE's are 'easy'. Feel free to write back on my wall if need be.

    James.
  10. I did Additional Maths instead which is similar and got an A, what about you?
