Yup, I had to send in an essay.

Sorry, no - I've been out of the loop for a while now. I did hear something along those lines last cycle, but I couldn't confirm as I was in China.

Hi,
Sorry I am not him, however I happened to apply for US sutton trust but I got rejected, my friend Matt Fox got in however, sometimes I was wondering how I can get rejected when there were so many gave ups. I also happen to apply to Cambridge for Economics and my choice of college is Downing. I am applying to LSE, UCL, Warwick and Bristol as well. You?

Hey
My UMS wasn't very good if I'm entirely honest. I can't remember exactly, but maths and further were each 91/92ish, econ was 86ish and english was 84ish. But seriously, UMS isn't incredibly important. It's more of a back up. If you nail your interview, regardless of whether you're on 98/99 or whether your'e 82/83, you'll get an offer. It's when your interview doesn't go amazingly that your UMS is important (whether you're pooled or something).
My advice to you would be to keep things in perspective. In the context of your entire life, this is just a minute detail. So don't panic, be confident. Make sure you're prepared so that they can't faze you. It's pointless doing everything 2 or 3 days before, because in your head, you wont feel ready (kind of what I did). Don't try to be something you're not. It's much better to be rejected for being yourself than being potentially rejected for something you're not (I hope that makes sense). You'll have so many more regrets otherwise. Maintain eye contact, be polite and be genuine. I wish you the very best of luck
On a side note, I missed my LSE offer i felt like I underachieved a little bit, so I have decided to reapply again this year. I may well be reapplying to Cambridge, so I could potentially see you there (on the basis we both get interviews). What college are you applying to?
