Recently graduated with a first in Music from Cambridge. Papers taken in degree: First Year - Harmony, counterpoint, analysis (1700-1828), ethnomusicological practice, late renaissance sacred music and it's canonisation, nineteenth century music, general musicianship. Second Year - Tonal composition (including fugue), Diaghilev, "Degeneration and Regeneration" - the effect of Wagner on the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, analysis (1828-Present), Dissertation on Adorno's monograph on Berg. Third Year - Shostakovich, Klezmer, aesthetics of opera, aesthetic of the Fantastic - from C.P.E. Bach to Berlioz, dissertation on how identity politics in musicology in the early 1990s affected how the relationship between music and power was understood, and an analysis portfolio on Schoenberg's operatic works - Using 1950s radical psychiatry to discuss Erwartung, and considering a scene of Moses und Aron in relation to Apophatic/Cataphatic theology.
