Got a Lincoln law interview?

Hey,
For the LNAT: An LNAT book, do practice papers online, LSAT practice papers (the american LNAT), Critical thinking book, read argumentative passages in newspapers and analyse them, do lots of essays..Interview..erm there's not much you can do..keep reading up about Law..

Hey, thanks! I have to admit that I started my lnat preparation quite late, but I bought a couple of books of amazon, and did the practise tests on the lnat website. I've always been fairly up to date with the news, so that side wasn't a particular problem for me, but if you're not, then I'd recommend starting soon... you don't have to read every story, at least just start with the ones you feel interested in and work from there (I also found that Tumblr was a particularly good source of 'alternative' news, and also a fairly good excuse for a legitimate distraction every now and again!) You have to work quickly in both sections; I could have done with a couple more minutes with both sections. For the first, I worked through, doing all the questions I could do straight away and leaving the rest, and gradually working through them like that. For part B, I'd really recommend practising writing short, well-structured essays within the time constraints, and there's no spell check in the real thing!
For the interview, I know lots of people say it, but it's really important to know about absolutely everything on your ps, even if it's only the briefest of mentions. I'd mentioned the Nuremberg Trials in passing, and all of one of my interviews was about them!! So really don't risk it! I'm not sure about other aspects of the interview, was there anything else you were particularly interested in, and I'd be happy to help?
Good luck!

Yeah I contemplated Lincoln as well actually, but I was always set on Balliol really.
What exam board are you on for Lit? Because I don't recall having a distinct Section B style question.
Yeah I did a substitute PS for Durham Politics but it was probably a waste of time if I'm honest. Just apply to 5 really good unis for Law and I'm sure you'll get offers.

I'm on AQA but I imagine the course content is very similar.
I went for Durham and Warwick, as well as Oxford obviously, so that looks like a very good set of choices to me.
I didn't bother with an insurance, just seems like a waste of a choice to be honest, especially for Law where most unis only offer AAA.
You been on a visit to Oxford yet?
-
Hi thanks for the reply. I'm doing edexcel.
I'm looking at oxford, ucl , durham, warwick and one other.
I'm not sure if I should put an insurance if I can't contemplate going there - so my last choice will probably be Bristol!

Hi, thanks.
With regard to the LNAT, it's something that's very difficult to prepare for. In my opinion the best thing to do is past papers, but other than that it's a bit of a lottery. Loads of companies sell books claiming to help you prepare for it but I'm not sure they're that helpful really.
The interview is even more of a lottery! Familiarise yourself with a couple of topical legal issues and make sure you know your PS inside out. However, in my interviews we didn't discuss anything personal to me at all, it was all focused on hypothetical legal scenarios.
I'm not sure what Politics exam board you're doing but for mine I just used one textbook really and then just practised past papers. Make sure you relate every point back to the claim in the question as well.
86/100 is still very good!
What unis are you thinking of applying for then?
-
Hey! I couldn't help but notice on the Oxford forum that your also applying for Law...
Just wondering like what's your application like? Mine's pretty hopeless, I'm trying to find ways to strengthen it! Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing so because they recently added them. They're easy so its not that much to learn.
