Goldney, though if you're interested in Colston I'd put it as your first choice as I reckon it will be quite popular this year
Self-catered is good as you can eat whenever you want, and what you want, though if you're a bit tight for money meals can be a bit plain. I know breakfast in catered halls is quite early, which is something to consider if you don't get up very early - you'll be paying for meals you won't eat.

Hey there most of the building is en-suite, and even though I put it as my insurance last year, I was lucky enough to get en-suite too. I have the smallest ensuite room they do and it's still really sizeable, with loads of storage space and it's nice to work in.
The facilities are great. We have a massive common room downstairs, and each flat has a large communal kitchen and living unlike a lot of halls of residence and student houses. Since it's a brand new building you don't have to worry about leaks, skanky furniture or anything like that. Each flat consists of about 9-10 people, but we easily sat 22 people in our living space around tables for christmas dinner, so you won't be pressed for space! :') There are also two ovens and 8 hobs in each kitchen.

in terms of prestige KCL is head and shoulders above bristol!

For a Chinese student?

It's a really ethnically diverse city, I'm sure you'll have no trouble making friends here. I couldn't really tell you anything specific to your race! x
