Hi Jane,

Thank you that is great advice, for the role play do you suggest taking any form of prop such as a leaflet or something? Or perhaps just have a rough ideas of what I am going to say? ]

In terms of the interview, I know they ask about marketing etc, do you think it would be helpful to read up on marketing strategies or is it more EL specific?

Hi Rachel,

Yes I had it in August. I didn't get through because they said I wasn't confident enough with the role play, so that's my number one piece of advice! Instead of over-preparing what you're going to say to convince them, think about the sort of stuff you could chat to them about. They were keen on establishing a rapport with the customer. After you do the role play, they'll probably give you feedback and ask you if you want to do it again. My advice is, definitely do it again and show that you've taken their advice on board (obviously), but don't let it rattle you too much (like I did!).

The interview part is pretty straightforward if you've done some preparation, so I don't really have any special advice for that part.

The final part (working/interacting with children) is good as it lets you prove how good you'd be in a practical way. Just relax and get to know the kids. I was expecting to have to do some tutoring, but I didn't.
