Hope this isn't a weird message, but I saw your post in the medicine forum and wanted to give some advice, but don't post any more in TSR so thought I'd send you a message.

I'm a final year at Cambridge, and struggled in my first year, so have some idea of the workload and stresses of first term. I know it's easy to say don't worry, but you've got plenty of time to catch up, just start working consistently over the christmas hols. I tried to do 1 dissection session every day, read through and then use an atlas to try identify the structures. For HOM and MIMS, I'd say avoid the big textbooks... if you know everything in the lecture notes you'd get a great MCQ result. Maybe once you know the lecture material then read up on a few topics that interest you in a bit more detail to get little extra bits for the essay.

Finally, don't forget to enjoy the holidays! When you hit clinical years you only get 2 weeks, so make the most of it whilst you can!
