  1. Ahhh thanks for the help. I recieved no email from Martine Lowes and the cover meant for the CRB form didn't arrive either! I was a bit confused to say the least. My mom's been to see a couple of doctors but they're different each time and probably don't have my records. The whole concept of a family GP doesn't exist in Sweden. So when are you leaving for Nottingham?
  2. Hahaha I'm sure you're good at iceskating. Or at least good enough to buy some ice skates. I'm good enough to admire the shoes and curse my non-existent balancing skills. I'm leaving for India tomorrow, and coming back on september the 11th. My dad really didn't think that one through when he booked it. As if he doesn't get enough funny looks from the airport people. Anyway I was thinking of leaving for Nottingham on the 22nd. I think my accommodation will be open by then, so it'll be convenient to move all my stuff in. I haven't booked the ticket yet either, but I think the 22nd is pretty much fixed. Actually I'm bringing both my parents to carry my stuff . I'm going with Ryanair to London and then taking the train. I don't know how that's going to work with all my things... but it'll happen. Is your dad leaving immediately after dropping you off? Oh and you know the fitness for practice form? Did you fill out the part which asked for GP details? I've never been to the GP during my 9 years in Sweden, so I've no idea what to put there. And what did you fill in for the Cohort Code and the student unique ID? I feel a bit useless right now.
  3. Your job sounds quite fun. I like bread. Bread is pretty much going to be my sustenance while at uni. You can come and bake some Hmmm I'm torn between so many societies. I was thinking of book club, Model UN...Medsoc (obvious choice) Dance, Yoga and Tamil/Indian society. I'd love to join the Quidditch/Harry Potter thing, but any game involving a ball is a game that I'm terrible at, so the thought of quidditch scares me...A LOT. The last time I was good at sports was in 3rd grade when we played things like hide and seek or tag. Good times. Anyway I was also thinking of "the silver screen" basically a film club, and "people and the planet"... The list actually goes on. I love ice skating. And by that I mean I love watching ice skating. My friends made me try it out a couple of years ago and it turned out to be very humiliating experience for me and very entertaining one for them. I did finally manage to somewhat move while wearing the shoes...although I probably looked like a drunk toddler. Still:rolleyes:
  4. Ah, you seem to be having a very productive summer! I'm still in the "doing absolutely nothing" phase. I went to Italy with a few of my friends for a week or so which was incredibly fun, but since then, I've just been wallowing around the house and generally being quite useless. But soon I'm off to India for an extremely long trip, so my sedentary lifestyle will probably meet an abrupt end. Hopefully I can squeeze in some driving lessons while I'm there! I guess 41 points is considered to be quite high. I saw a youtube video awhile ago with some guy receiving his IB scores. He got 33 or something and his entire family seemed to be ecstatic so I guess I shouldn't complain. What kind of a job do you have? I considered getting one but I have to be really good at Swedish for most things and I've pretty much forgotten most of it since IB. Have you looked at any societies to join? I'm torn between so many.
  5. Wow, 7.9 was so close to the offer. It must have been annoying to have to do your retake! I got my IB results around two weeks ago. Some of my grades were a bit unexpected, but all in all I did ok. I have a total of 41 points. :/ Just glad that it's enough to get me in. So have you started preparing for uni? I'm currently busying myself with covertly stealing most of my mom's kitchen stuff...although it's questionable whether I'll ever be using them. Oh and have you got anything planned for summer? I feel a bit weird having so much free time after two years of IB slavery!
  6. Hey! Just found out that you've met your offer. Congrats! Guess you must have done well in your maths exam after all. Anyway, looks like I'll be joining you there in September! ...I'M EXCITED!
  7. What exactly are the conditions they asked for? Maybe maths doesn't really matter?
I just finished all of my exams... so now there's just the long wait till July 6th! Best of luck with the rest of yours!
  8. My cooking skills are pretty much non-existent as far as I know. I mean I haven't set foot in the kitchen a single day in my life. Guess I'm pretty much going to have to learn on the job. It'll definitely be interesting. :/ So when do your exams end? And when will you know your results? I have to wait until July 6th to know whether or not I made it... Joy!
  9. Hey! Can't believe it's taken me this long to reply. I've been swamped with revision the last month. At least the exams will soon be over
Anyway, I've applied for self-catered accommodation at broadgate park. I have a suspicion that I'm going to end up buying microwavable food after 1 week of "slaving away" in the kitchen.
So which hall did you end up at? Some of them are really close to QMC!
All the best for your exams. Hope you do great
  10. OMG I'm so happy for you!! At least all the waiting paid off!! You must be so mad at the UCAS people for having you wait this long. Now I really can't wait till I start uni!! Just those stupid exams left. Are you having your finals right now? Or is it just the mock exams? My finals start in the beginning of May :/ Looking forward to getting them over with.
Oh and have you thought about what kind of accommodation you'd want? Ok... it's kind of early to be thinking about that... but still
