Hi, I'm a Canadian (from Toronto) applying to UCL/ holding an offer from Edinburgh. If you don't mind, what were the conditions of your UCL offer?
-
I am interested in applying to some unis in Scotland (I'm an American) and came across your thread about Americans applying to universities in the UK...
I was wondering where you ended up going..
-
why, may i ask are you choosing UK schools over US colleges? haha

Heya, sorry for not replying, I've just seen your message now!
I went to an open day a week before the official one, because I was on holiday during that week. I met Mr. Monger, he was lovely! I didn't manage to get a look around the accomodation, but from the outside, it looked beautiful. I'm firming UCL as soon as my other two responses come through, from KCL + York!

Sorry I haven't replied sooner just been a bit busy. The interview is tomorrow ahhhh! Slightly nervous and have no idea what to expect lol. Hopefully it'll go well.

Yeah the vampire one. I'm really not into that kinda thing but I really enjoyed it! oo Swedish art is something I should look into actually. I'm an art freak generally so I'd be really interested.
No I haven't applied to Edinburgh because I wanted to stay in the south of the country. I live in London but I want to move out but I don't want to be very far away. Sounds kinda silly seeing as you're coming all the way from America!
I was really surprised to get an interview seeing as my grades aren't amazing due to a pretty rough year last year.
I have heard that it is really expensive to go to uni in the USA... And I hate Science! Maths is okay though... bearable haha..
-
Oh yeah sorry I forgot ask you why you loooove the Swedes haha?
-
Well it sounds pretty pathetic but a year and a bit ago I watched a film called Let the Right One In and it was my first experience of Swedish. I really enjoyed the film and when looking through the options at UCL I thought Swedish would be great. I could have picked something more generic like Italian or Portuguese but I thought that I couldn't pass up the opportunity lol. I was thinking of Danish too as I love Hans Christen Andersen's fairy tales but I went with Swedish in the end. Wow long story haha.
I have an interview at UCL on the 23rd :/ and another a month later in Southampton but that's for French and German. How about you? How do you go about applying from abroad?
