I suppose that's because his brilliance was more in his integrity, courage, and indefatigibility than innovation or intellectual accomplishments; and he wasn't flamboyant like Gladstone or Churchill. He was just dutiful and competent to an extraordinary degree but they're hardly traits that make people legends.

    I would recommend history at Wadham. the tutors are all pretty cool and I've really liked the history part of my course. in each year there are about 12-13 historians so you'll be in good company
