i also applied everywhere. I've been applying since June. I had 2 interviews at boots and marks and spencers but didn't get them. Also i'm quite annoyed at o2 because it's taking forever for everything to go through, like my references, i'm thinking they might just take back the offer of me working there.. but i really do need money. Just keep trying, thats my advice, something will turn up, also the more experience you get is fantastic x
hey, yeah i might apply for the foundation year or i might apply for biomedical sciences, depends on what grades i get. I've enrolled at college, to re-sit exams and attend lessons part time. Also managed to get a job at the o2 store but waiting to start, how's things with you?
I've gone over my CV and redone it several times. I've also had a few different people look at it, which can be a bit problematic in a way because they all tell me conflicting critique and advice and so I'm pretty much picking and choosing what I feel might be right, not knowing whether any will work this time or not . I know my CV was pretty crap a year ago and I have since improved it a lot, but I dunno, it's still difficult to get work so I'm not sure what more I can do . I might just end up finding a way to work for myself, because this is just annoying and depressing getting rejected by employers all the time.
Oh yeah, and I'm on LinkedIn already. It's OK, but I don't really understand how to get jobs from it, but I'll maybe give it another go. I've also joined a group on there also get regular emails from James Caan with his wise careers advice, which is pretty good to read.
Yeah, I am signed up to a few job sites, and have been since last year now. They all regularly email me suitable jobs to apply to, and I apply to all I can but nothing comes of it
Same with me. I've been finding it so difficult to get a job for ages though . Fingers crossed we both get something eventually
What sort of work experience are you looking into?
Ok, I suppose that's a shame cos of all the stiff competion this year. Oh well good luck for next year
What are you gonna do in the meantime?
Yeah, I was actually signed up to a journalism foundation course by my mum, but I don't really want to do it. The college (The London College UCK - not even a uni) that does it doesn't have very much external info about it, except for a few bad reviews . And I'm not sure I can stand doing constant academics right now anyway, so I think I'll be happier going the work experience route for now
So if you're gonna do a foundation course, shouldn't you be quick cos aren't they starting very soon now? Or are you doing it next year?
Hey, hope you're okay. Have you decided what you want to do? i'm trying to hard trying to be entered for my exams privately but most of the exams officers are just being so difficult! x
Your vid in your sig is brilliant!
Oh OK, cool. Well good luck with it all . I'm still not 100% sure what I'm doing, but I'm just applying to loads of jobs and apprenticeships and really hoping I get somewhere. Will probably talk to a careers advisor at some point too.
