  1. ah thanks will do! just waiting for some unis to reply to my emails then will call them up
  2. ah cool! i'm thinking about doing a foundation science course.. and then maybe getting into pharmacy? not sure, still researching! just trying to find someone who could advise me on this
  3. oh right! cool! what are you planning to do afterwards?
  4. Hey, thanks for the replies on my thread,
just wondering, what uni & courses are you doing?
  5. i also applied everywhere. I've been applying since June. I had 2 interviews at boots and marks and spencers but didn't get them. Also i'm quite annoyed at o2 because it's taking forever for everything to go through, like my references, i'm thinking they might just take back the offer of me working there.. but i really do need money. Just keep trying, thats my advice, something will turn up, also the more experience you get is fantastic x
  6. hey, yeah i might apply for the foundation year or i might apply for biomedical sciences, depends on what grades i get. I've enrolled at college, to re-sit exams and attend lessons part time. Also managed to get a job at the o2 store but waiting to start, how's things with you?
  7. I've gone over my CV and redone it several times. I've also had a few different people look at it, which can be a bit problematic in a way because they all tell me conflicting critique and advice and so I'm pretty much picking and choosing what I feel might be right, not knowing whether any will work this time or not :dontknow:. I know my CV was pretty crap a year ago and I have since improved it a lot, but I dunno, it's still difficult to get work so I'm not sure what more I can do :sigh:. I might just end up finding a way to work for myself, because this is just annoying and depressing getting rejected by employers all the time.

Oh yeah, and I'm on LinkedIn already. It's OK, but I don't really understand how to get jobs from it, but I'll maybe give it another go. I've also joined a group on there also get regular emails from James Caan with his wise careers advice, which is pretty good to read.
  8. Yeah, I am signed up to a few job sites, and have been since last year now. They all regularly email me suitable jobs to apply to, and I apply to all I can but nothing comes of it :sigh:
  9. Same with me. I've been finding it so difficult to get a job for ages though . Fingers crossed we both get something eventually

What sort of work experience are you looking into?
  10. Ok, I suppose that's a shame cos of all the stiff competion this year. Oh well good luck for next year

What are you gonna do in the meantime?

    Life quotes:
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

My advice would be stay true to yourself, try to discover what it is that you really want to do with your life whilst drowning out the voices of society and other people, and know that your choice is personal to you and someone else's might be completely different yet entirely as valid.
People are capable of much more than they believe they are.
