Sorry for the insanely late reply (2 months oh dear - I'm trying not to come on TSR too much as it just worries me about my UCAS application) :P. I do love your blog though! I loved your post about the 17 year old girl walking along the road with lots of books - totally reminds me of myself - and how sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it! I love all your posts about your medical school as well - it all sounds so brilliant! I look forward to your future posts . I really should start a blog :P. x

I went to one of the accommodation tours...I initially wanted to go into self catered accommodation with en-suite. But after that day its completely made me split 50/50 about catered and self catered accommodation .
The self catered accommodation is on site and is decent, so nights out into Liverpool would be cheaper as taxis wont be needed AND I don't particularly like the cooked food, as I'm vegetarian and most places cater for veggies with cheese, cheese and more cheese!! On the other hand, the catered accommodation is off site, but the social aspects of it seem so much better and I felt like there was a real community. Also, the accommodation was nicer (bars on campus, halls etc.) but the main dilemma was that its a 15 minute bus ride into uni and the annual buss pass costs £280 /:!!
BIG DILEMMA!
If you could please reply that would be great!!

Hello
I am in my last year at college, and i am considering taking a gap year as i could not decide what course or even subject i would like to pursue at university. Would you reccomend this r should i just apply for what i think i may like? Also what did you do during your gap year and did universities see you as an equal applicant to those who have just left college? Did it matter to them what you did during your year as long as it was something, or did they want you to have done something related to the course you applied for?
At the moment all i can see myself doing is getting a part time job and volunteering at a few places.
Thankyou
Sonal

hey i noticed you said that you go to liverpool uni.
i havent been able to visit it because i live in london but i was just wondering if i could ask you some stuff?
What is the city itself like? A few people have told me its a bit of a dump but others have told me its amazing especially as its won cultural capital of europe! Jw what your opinion was..
What is the social life/clubs/parties like?
Is it expensive/cheap to live there?
Is it hard to find a part time job?
oh and is there alot of antisemitism on campus? I've heard that it can be quite bad in some unis
thank you so much! sorry i got abit carried away
What are you studying?

Id honestly receive 4 rejections due to grades and UKCAT score but i will resit some AS exams. If i get AAA or more then my teacher agreed that i can reject the optom offer (if i get one) and take a year out to apply for medicine

Hey thank you hali, basically I did not do well this year I feel that I have underachieved so I am going to give it my all this year.
GCSEs 4 A* 4 A 2 B (rather moderate)
AS levels: ABBCC (remark i might have an extra A )
UKCAT 620
2 weeks GP
2 weeks Opticians (in year 10)
1 week in Lourdes helping sick pilgrims
hope to start volunteering soon at a care home done my CRB
Basically due to my grades and UKCAT I feel that it is rather pointless applying this year so I have decided to apply to Optometry, but If i get AAA I will take a gap year and apply to medicine, school said they would help me through it. I am in year 13 atm I just started. I am hoping to give it my absolute all this year.
Do you mind if I ask where you applied?

Hey Hali I think I might end up being on a gap year when I apply to medicine tbh I in no rush to go to uni so I am not bothered
But could I ask what your academics were and where you applied? sorry to be cheeky
